The Strokes Release New Single, "Drag Queen"

Is Julian Casablancas trying to tell us something?

It's been a minute since we've heard new music from The Strokes, which might explain why the band dropped not one, but two singles today. Following quickly on the heels of "Oblivius," Julian Casablancas and company gave us another single, "Drag Queen."

The title obviously caught our attention, though we can't decipher the lyrics enough to tell if the song about an actual drag queen, if the title is metaphorical, or what.

Take a listen and let us know if you can tell.

Back in 2004, a gay porn movie accidentally wound up on the band's tour documentary DVD, In Transit, but we doubt Casablanca is using "Drag Queen" as a coming out song. (I mean, the guy hates brunch.)

The band's new EP, Future Present Past comes out June 3 and includes "Oblivius," "Drag Queen" and "Threat of Joy," as well as a remix of "Oblivius" by drummer Fab Moretti.

If you want to ask them in person about "Drag Queen," they're hosting a week-long pop-up shop in New York, at 352 Bowery, from May 30 to June 5.
