"Quantico" Reveals The Truth About Simon

He doesn't wear glasses!

After weeks of hints and allegations, the truth about Simon Asher's history and sexuality has been revealed on ABC's Quantico.

Or has it?

This show has shown that nothing is ever as it appears (a line that has been used repeatedly), so it's still unclear whether we know the whole story, or part of it, or none of it.

Analyst Elias has been on Simon's case from the get-go, refusing to buy Simon's story that he's a gay four-eyed caffeine addict. When Simon insists he does have a boyfriend named Max (who strangely, is not in "Canada"), Elias doesn't buy it for a second.

Ha! That shows how much he knows. Max does exist, and Simon has a new friend approval to prove it.

The gang has to go undercover with new identities at a society function and play their new characters convincingly, and that certainly sets the theme of the night.

Especially when Simon announces to everyone within earshot that "MY BOYFRIEND MAX, WHO DEFINITELY DOES EXIST, IS HERE TONIGHT," and wants everyone to meet him.

By everyone, he means Elias, of course—and Elias does follow him when Simon leaves to meet Max. It turns out, of course, that Max has no idea what Simon is up to, and is a bit startled and taken aback when Simon shows a lot of affection for someone he just met.

Elias observes, but still isn't buying it, and heads up to the hotel room to get to the bottom of things.

Okay, all I ever get is a mint on the pillow and some $10 Toblerone in the mini-fridge. Not fair.

Max instantly opens up to Elias about the truth of his relationship with Simon. Basically, it doesn't exist.

Now that he knows the truth, Elias confronts Simon, after telling him that Max "came and went." Oh, Elias. He's brutal in his contempt for what Simon has done, and rails at him for his lies. "It's not just you lying about being gay. Don't get me wrong, that deeply offends me a gay man. A man who was actually bullied, a man for fought for marriage equality. A man who has done things to another man. And recently, too."

He doesn't want to hear "life is complicated," or that Simon is bisexual, telling him "you're not going to co-opt that, too." The thing that bugs him the most is "the lengths you're willing to go to maintain this facade. You manipulated a complete stranger to come here. An innocent person. Who does that?" Yeah! And Elias had to bang the guy just to even out the karma.

Elias tells him he's dangerous, and when they get back, he's going to make sure Simon never steps foot on Quantico again.

Before they leave the hotel, Simon pays him a visit, and finally comes clean about his web of lies. And he takes off his glasses, so you know shit is about to get real.

Thanks for understanding. But actually, Elias just makes a quip about how Simon should keep the glasses because "they look good on you," and the two have a laugh.

So is Simon still spouting bullshit, or is this the real story? For that matter, does Elias buy his story, or is he playing along just to get further into the Simon mystery?

What do you think?
