‘The Voice’ Pays Tribute To Newtown Victims With ‘Hallelujah’

The Voice beautifully honored the 27 people killed in the Newtown massacre by opening tonight’s show with a touching song.

Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green took turns singing verses from “Hallelujah” while all of this season’s contestants joined in on the chorus. Each person on the candlelit stage held a card with a victim’s name and age.

Days after the Connecticut shooting, there’s still something so viscerally disturbing about seeing so many single digit ages. Watch the video and prepare to have a few tissues handy.
