In the newly released trailer for Cory Monteith’s final film, All The Wrong Reasons, Monteith plays a mild-mannered store manager struggling in the aftermath of a trauma. The Reign of “Dantana” Beings With Naya Rivera and Demi Lovato Pic
Naya Rivera gave fans their first taste of “Dantana” last week — that’s the pairing of Rivera’s character Santana with Dani, played by Glee newcomer Demi Lovato. She instagrammed a pic of the pair on set in matching uniforms with the caption, “Fancy.”
Lovato has been tweeting up a storm about her time on set. “Wayyyyy too excited to be starting @GLEE this week!!!!!!! Asjfkdjshdk. I can’t believe I’m going back to acting but the best part about it is that I get to act/sing with some of my really great friends . . .” she tweeted Aug. 26. Lovato’s Dani character will play a recurring role in Season 5, starting with her first appearance on the second episode of the season.
Glee will put off dealing with the consequences of Cory Monteith’s death until the third episode of the season, when we find out the character of Finn Hudson has died. Glee boss Ryan Murphy said the episode won’t deal with the cause of Finn or Monteith’s death, but instead focus on grief and reaction. The cast has begun filming already, and Kevin McHale, who plays Artie Abrams, told TVLine that it’s already challenging since some character react to Finn’s death very differently than their actors responded to Monteith, while some are even in denial.
“Some people aren’t dealing with the loss of Finn, and it’s a difficult thing because in real life none of us were like that. We were all very much dealing with it,” he said.
“There are so many incredibly well written and powerful scenes. When we got the script, we were all reading it together and we were like, ’Did you get to that one scene.’ And when you see it everyone will know what that one scene is.”
