Lea Michele Is A Funny Girl, Indeed

Glee is back on the streets of New York filming upcoming episodes: Times Square residents saw a new billboard for Funny Girl pop up this week on 54th Street and Eighth Avenue. Alas it was a fictional marquee, though Ryan Murphy tweeted a shot of Lea Michele in front of the sign and sporting a pretty pink jacket. Glee choreographer Brooke Lipton tweeted about being in the city as well. Hopefully Rachel Berry will be singing and dancing through "I'm the Greatest Star" on Broadway by Christmas.

Ready to "Roar"?

Katy Perry's music is returning to Glee!  TV Line is reporting that "a cover of Katy Perry's smash single ‘Roar’ will be prominently featured in a fall episode." That's probably gonna be late fall since, the first two episodes are Beatles-centric, episode 3 is the Finn/Cory Monteith tribute and then the show takes a hiatus.

We're sure whomever ends up singing "Roar" will do a great job, but we would love to see Perry herself appear on the show. She's proven her comedic chops in videos like “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.),” after all.

Speaking of that tribute episode, TVLine also reports Dot Marie-Jones (Coach Beiste) and Romy Rosemont (Finn's mom) are returning for the episode, entitled "The Quarterback."  The site also reveals that Lea Michele, Monteith's on-and-off air girlfriend, will only appear at the end of the episode, to sing a farewell song.

Amber Riley Reaches Out For "Dancing" Tips

On the sunnier side of Gleek life, Amber Riley is warming up for her appearance on Dancing with the Stars, and she's turned to former costar Harry Shum for advice: "She calls me and texts me about some things and shows me little video clips, like, 'What should I work on?'" Shum tells WetPaint. "I say like her hands and all that stuff. So it’s great. She’s really taking full force with this and trying to get all the details before she starts competing."

Jane Lynch's divorce from Laura Embry is getting costly: According to TMZ, Embry is demanding a whopping $93,809 a month in spousal support, citing Jane's monthly income of $234,688 and the $40,000-a-month credit-card debt the couple accrued together. Embry's expenditures include $6,500 on clothes, $12,000 on entertainment and $4,500 on eating out.  Also up for dispute is a $3 million mansion where Embry and 10-year-old daugher are currently living.

Lynch has been insisting that split is amicable and not contentious: "It's not dramatic. It's not a horrible thing. It's something that we're dealing with," Jane told Larry King Live in July. "It's two people who just decided it's better to go apart than stay together."

Darren Criss Learns Big Life Lesson From Ex-Girlfriend

Speaking of breakups, Cosmopolitan named Darren Criss Mr. October and—in addition to revealing a male Gleek once licked him—Criss shared some break-up advice he got from an ex: “When I was a junior in college, I'd [dumped] a girl. But there were those residual months when I was still calling her all the time and wanting to spend time with her,” he recalled. “Basically, she sat me down and said, ‘Listen, you broke my heart. Accept responsibility for your actions, be a man, and leave me alone, because it's only going to make things worse.' I'll always remember that as a pivotal moment in my life. I hope she's reading this because I love her for it.”

Lanky Grant Gustin, who played Dalton Academy bady-boy gay Sebastian on Glee, might be flexing his superhero muscle soon:  Gustin is one of three actors being considered for the role of super-speedster the Flash on the CW's Arrow. Latino Review names One Tree Hill's Matt Barr and Australian actor James Mackay as the other two contenders. The Flash is schedule to race into three episodes of Arrow when it returns October 9, before zipping into his own spinoff series.
