Shirley MacLaine Joins "Glee," Chris Colfer Heads To "Hot In Cleveland': The Week In Gleek

Naya Rivera And Big Sean Call Off Engagement

Glee star Naya Rivera and rapper Big Sean have called off their engagement. There've been rumors that Sean has cheated on Rivera, but he denies that's the cause of the break in a statement to the press:

“After careful thought and much consideration, Sean has made the difficult decision to call the wedding off. The recent rumors and accusations reported by so called or fake sources are simply untrue. Sean wishes Naya nothing but the best and it is still his hope that they can continue to work through their issues privately. We will not be commenting again on this matter.”

Sounds like it was Sean's idea to call it quits—his loss!

The two got engaged in October 2013 after six months of dating.

Shirley MacLaine Joins Glee

Glee adds another screen legend to its roster with Shirley MacLaine, who's joining the gang for an undisclosed number of episode.

TVLine reports the Downton Abbey alum will play a powerful New York socialite bent on turning Blaine into a superstar. She'll make her debut at the end of this season and, thanks to leaked set photos, we know she'll have at least have one song and dance number.

Glee Cuts Back On Episodes

Just when Glee starts getting great again, we're getting less of it: The Powers That Be have decided to cut back the Season 5 run to 20 episodes, down two from the normal run of 22. A big thumbs down, but it's been a hard year for the show—if anyone deserves a break, it's the Glee cast.

Chris Colfer Heads To Hot in Cleveland

Is there anything Chris Colfer can't do? Next week the multitalented star is filming a guest spot on TVLand's Hot In Cleveland, where he'll play Tony, the son of fading actress Victoria Chase, played by Wendie Malick.

In addition to all his acting gigs, Colfer is also slated to release his third novel this summer, and provide voicework in an upcoming animated feature. Does he ever sleep?

Darren Criss Quizzes Co-Stars on Broadway Trivia

With the gang turning to Sondheim classics on this week's episode, theater buff Darren Criss quizzed his Glee co-stars on their Big White Way knowledge: In "Broadway Baby Brain Busters: Glee Edition" he pitted Lea Michele against Chris Colfer with questions like "What was the longest-running musical in 2000?," "What musical is 'No One is Alone' from?" and "What is Patti LuPone's real name?" (That last one was a trick question.)

E! Online has a clip of the whole contest.

Chord Overstreet Going Solo

Chord Overstreet's Sam has grown to become one of the most enjoyable elements of Glee. Now he's turning toward his own musical career, with a YouTube channel demonstrating his abilities outside the choir room—offering original tunes and acoustic mashups of pop hits. Check out two examples below: a mashup of "Get Lucky" and "Last Friday Night" and an original composition called "Birthday Suit."
