TheBacklot Interview: "Looking" Actor Daniel Franzese

Oh, EddieBear.

Since joining the Looking cast at the start of the second season, viewers have fallen for the furry bundle of love that Daniel Franzese brings to life every week on the HBO series. In fact, it's probably because of Eddie's relationship with Agustin (Frankie J. Alvarez) that the Agustin character has emerged as one that people now cheer for instead of bitch about-- as many did during season one.

But Franzese, who we first met years ago as gay teen Damian in Mean Girls, has much more going on than his current gig on Looking. He's also the newly appointed Ambassador for the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation (ETAF) and he's already booked his next series, ABC Family's fall drama, Recovery Road.

This Thursday evening Franzese, along with co-star Murray Bartlett (Dom), will be at The Abbey in West Hollywood to screen the final two episodes of Looking's current season as well as raise money for ETAF. So it was only fitting that we sat down with him at The Abbey to chat about everything going on in his life, including his relationship with Joseph Bradley Phillips.

In the first part of our interview, Franzese talks about the Eddie/Agustin relationship and shooting the now-infamous c*m-in-your-eye scene.

In part two, Franzese talks about how he got involved with the Elizabeth Taylor Aids Foundation and his experience seeing HIV and AIDS portrayed on television.

The actor on his groundbreaking role in Mean Girls, doing a sex scene as a "bigger man" and breaking out some pole dancing moves for his next TV role.

Finally, Franzese gives details on the Looking screening event at The Abbey this Thursday!

The Looking finale airs this Sunday at 10pm on HBO. For more information on the ETAF, visit the website. Follow Danny on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
