Forget about Cinderella's glass slipper: British shoe company Irregular Choice makes fantastical footwear fit for a princess—or a queen. Their heels feature figurines of bunnies, mermaids, unicorns, and other other magical creatures.

Owner Dan Sullivan opened his first shoe shop at 18, and later traveled the world to learn more about the industry. He opened his first Irregular Choice store in London in 1999, and now has brick-and-mortar shops throughout the U.K., China, Spain, and France.

Based in London, he creates more than 600 new designs every year—including heels, wedges, ballet flats, sneakers, and separate lines for men and kids.

You might see a familiar face or two staring up at you, too: Irregular Choice has made signature heels featuring Alice in Wonderland, R2D2, and, yes Cinderella.

Sullivan says his ideal customer is anyone "who wants to be different."

"It doesn’t matter what age, where you are, where you work, or anything else," he adds, "except the fact that you want to have some fun and show off part of your personality that isn’t just a boring black shoe."
