This Black, Lesbian Robot Is Coming To Philadelphia. No, Seriously.

Meet Bina48, a humanoid robot and one of the main attractions at Philly Tech Week.

Bina48 (which stands for Breakthrough Intelligence via Neural Architecture, 48 exaflops processing speed and 48 exabytes of memory) was modeled after real-life person Bina Rothblatt, an African-American lesbian and the partner of Martine Rothblatt, whose Terasem Movement Foundation sponsored the robot's creation.

Rothblatt was interviewed for more than 20 hours about everything from her childhood to her career, and the results were uploaded into an artificial intelligence database.

"That gives her a personality," TMF director Bruce Duncan told The Daily Mail. "She's very philosophical. She has favorite movies and music and poems. Sometimes she's very humorous. She can tell jokes."

Duncan says her jokes, though, are kind of bad. Which sounds pretty human to us.

Check out a conversation between Bina48 and Bina Rothblatt, below.
