Thomas Is Getting Outed In New Season Of 'Downton Abbey'

[caption id="attachment_84623" align="aligncenter" width="607"] The Dowager finally gets a gay friend! Well, sorta.[/caption]

Poor Thomas has been off suffering in the closet the past two seasons of Downton Abbey, being rejected by his first true love (or so he thought) in the show's premiere, and then again by that creep Mr. Pamook, who definitely got what was coming to him, a few episodes after. But since then, no love interests or anything for our boy Tommy. What gives?

Well not to worry folks, as Thomas' homosexuality will be a big part of the show's new season, and our favorite villainour butler will, sadly, be outed.

“It’s the [season] where we really comes to grips with Thomas’s sexuality and the impact being gay must have had on him, in Edwardian times,” actor Rob James-Collier, who plays Thomas, said in a recent interview with Out. “If you’re including a gay character, there’s an onus and responsibility to at least show what the impact of the time will be on him, and of him on that time. Thankfully we’ve done that, and I’m so proud that I’ve been used to tell that tale.”

We just want to know, who will his love interest be? And what will O'Brien say?
