Thomas Roberts To Host "Way Too Early," Ridiculously Early MSNBC Morning Show

“This is a very exciting opportunity and right in line with my career goals and aspirations,” Roberts said in a statement. "I am flattered to join this morning family.  I also appreciate [MSNBC president Phil Griffin's] faith in me and can’t wait to get started.”

Roberts will replace current WTE host Brian Shactman, who says “I want to continue to branch out, making sure my career is not solely defined by [politics].”

Hmm, we wonder: If Roberts wanted to become the next Anderson Cooper, is hosting a show at such an ungodly hour the way to boost his profile? Is MSNBC foisting him off?

Or maybe Roberts realizes perky morning personalities make bigger bank than cable news anchors.

Just ask Kelly Ripa.
