Meet the Logo30: Tig Notaro

"Pride means freely living my life with love and openness."

Every day during the month of June, we will be spotlighting our 2020 Logo30. This powerful series profiles ordinary and extraordinary people who show pride in unique and provocative ways. Visit the Logo30 homepage to view current and past honorees.

For comedian Tig Notaro, Pride is all in a day's work.

The out actress, writer, and stand-up comic is known for her deadpan style, which she's translated into everything from hilarious and heartfelt stand-up sets to fan-favorite shows like the Amazon original series One Mississippi.

In 2018, she appeared alongside Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrne in Instant Family, a comedy about a couple whose journey to foster kids finds them in over their heads. Notaro, who is married and has kids IRL, plays Sharon, a social worker guiding Wahlberg and Byrne's characters through their fostering journey.

Asked by Logo and NewNowNext what Pride means to her, Notaro said, "Pride means freely living my life with love and openness and supporting others on that same path."

She also had a thoughtful answer for her Pride anthem this year.

"'Come to My Window' by Melissa Etheridge," she shared. "You know...because of the quarantine."

That's the spirit! Learn more about our other 2020 Logo30 honorees (and their Pride anthems du jour) in the video below.
