Tituss Burgess, Adam Lambert to Star in “Ratatouille: The TikTok Musical”

Proceeds from the fan-made musical will benefit The Actors Fund.

New year, new Ratatouille!

The cast of Ratatouille: The TikTok Musical — a musical version of the 2007 Pixar classic adapted by Gen Z theater kids on TikTok — was announced this Monday, December 28, and the lineup is… actually really impressive. Out actor Tituss Burgess (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmitt) will star as Remy the rat, with fellow queer actor-singer Adam Lambert appearing as Emile, Remy’s older brother. Other celebs tapped for the show include Wayne Brady, André De Shields, Kevin Chamberlin, and Ashley Park.

The Ratatouille musical will be performed in a one-time-only virtual event from Seaview Productions (Jeremy O. Harris’ Slave Play). In a statement, a spokesperson for Seaview said the show will “feature content created by members of TikTok’s #RatatouilleMusical Community, whose collective work has earned the engagement of more than 200 million fans around the globe, and will be performed with the 20-piece Broadway Sinfonietta orchestra.”

Proceeds from the show will benefit The Actors Fund, and given the COVID-19 pandemic’s devastating toll on the entertainment and nightlife industries, the organization’s work is more important than ever. (Worried about the TikTok users who developed the musical? Don’t fret. According to the show’s official website, the creators are being “credited and compensated.”)

Tickets start at $5, and the show begins streaming this Friday, January 1, 2021 at 7pm ET. It will only be available for 72 hours, so go get your grubby rat paws on some tix!
