TLC Yanks "19 Kids and Counting" From Schedule After Child Molestation Scandal

The Duggars are really needing the Lord's help these days: After Josh Duggar, eldest son of the 19 Kids and Counting clan, admitted he sexually molested several underage girls as a teen, TLC has yanked the show off its current TV schedule.

The network, which actually ran a 19 Kids marathon last night, has made no official comment about the long-term status of the show at this time.

In 2002 and 2003, Josh, now 27, reportedly fondled the breasts and genitalia of young girls while they slept. The Duggars avoided going to the authorities for a number of years, and the statute of limitations ran out before any charges could be filed.

“I confessed this to my parents who took several steps to help me address the situation," said Josh, whose wife, Anna, is expecting their fourth child. "I understood that if I continued down this wrong road that I would end up ruining my life.”

Josh resigned his position with the anti-gay lobbying group the Family Research Council yesterday after news of the abuse surfaced.

Mama June Shannon of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, whose own show was axed after she was alleged to be dating a man who molested one of her children, says 19 Kids should be cancelled.

"I wasn't dating [a molester] and no, they are going to not cancel them," she tweeted today. "It's f***ked up."

June told TMZ, "I read that the Duggar family said that  this happening with their son brought them closer to God and each other. So they're saying it's okay to have family touch time? Hell no."

Josh has at least one person in his corner who doesn't share his DNA: Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee defended the Duggars today.

"Josh's actions when he was an underage teen are as he described them himself, 'inexcusable,' but that doesn't mean 'unforgivable,'" Huckabee wrote on Facebook.

"The fact that he confessed his sins to those he harmed, sought help, and has gone forward to live a responsible and circumspect life as an adult is testament to his family's authenticity and humility."

Earlier this month, MSNBC reported that the Duggar clan had switched its support from Rick Santorum to Huckabee, the former governor of their home state of Arkansas.

“Governor Huckabee is a man of faith who is very wise, and will help get our nation back on track,” reads a message from Michelle Duggar on the governor’s campaign website.

“America needs Governor Huckabee for president!" Jim Bob declared in a separate message. "Governor Huckabee has the communication skills of Ronald Reagan, and a common sense business approach to government.”
