Archconservative pundit Glenn Beck isn’t exactly known as an ally to the LGBT community, so we were a little floored when he railed against the abysmal treatment of gay people in Russia.

Speaking with CNN’s SE Cupp, Beck attacked Russian actor Ivan Okhlobystin, who has said gay people should be burned alive: “I didn’t think you could make the Holocaust worse but he’s like “Why the gas chamber? That seems a little too humane. Let’s put them alive in the oven,'” said the former Fox pundit. “I will stand with GLAAD. I will stand with anybody who will stand up and say that’s crazy. That’s dangerous. That’s heterofascism. That’s what that is. And we’re talking about Duck Dynasty. Really? Really?”

Last week, Fox News’ Charles Krauthammer called the LGBT community’s struggle for equality “heroic.”

Did we fall asleep for three months and it’s now April Fool’s Day?

alan-cumming-front-watermarked-800x1000Alan Cumming just dropped a cool $4.65 million on a townhouse in New York’s East Village. Cumming and husband Grant Shaffer got the pad for well under the $5.1 asking price, scoring seven bedrooms, four baths, a “forest-like garden” and a French country chef’s kitchen with 19th-century flooring, according to the New York Post.

The Good Wife must be pretty good to him.

A health-food store owner in Tennessee has been arrested for falsely claiming he was beaten and robbed in an anti-gay hate crime.

In November Joe Williams, owner of Healthy Thyme in Paris, TN, claimed that three men in ski masks assaulted him outside his store, took $1,500 from the register and doused the shop in gasoline. Williams also reported that the trio yelled homophobic slurs during the assault and scrawled an anti-gay message on his forehead.

The FBI were called in to investigate, and that’s when the holes in William’s story started to appear. “We’ve not been able to verify or dispel any of the statements made about the actual robbery or fire,” said police sergeant Ricky Watson. “We’re looking into Mister Williams, and we’re looking into whether it did or did not happen.”

Williams was released on $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court later this month.

neighboursNew Year’s 2014 was not a happy one for Seattle gay hotpsot Neighbours, as someone attempted to set the nightclub on fire Tuesday night shortly after midnight.

Fox 13 reports that an unknown arsonist poured gasoline in a stairway to the second floor, but staff quickly put the blaze out with fire extinguishers and the building’s sprinkler system kicked in after the fire alarm was pulled. More than 7—50 partygoers were evacuated from the building, but no injuries were reported.
