Zachary Quinto Says Gays "Lazy" About AIDS, PrEP Leads To "Irresponsibility": Today In Gay

Zachary Quinto, named Artist of the Year in the 2014 Out 100, wants gays to hold off a second before jumping on the PrEP bandwagon.

“We need to be really vigilant and open about the fact that these drugs are not to be taken to increase our ability to have recreational sex," he says in the magazine's new issue. “There’s an incredible underlying irresponsibility to that way of thinking…and we don’t yet know enough about this vein of medication to see where it’ll take us down the line.”Quinto, who starred in a 2010 off-Broadway production of Angels in America, also railed against the "tremendous sense of complacency" in the LGBT community regarding HIV.

"AIDS has lost the edge of horror it possessed when it swept through the world in the ’80s," he opined. "Today’s generation sees it more as something to live with and something to be much less fearful of. And that comes with a sense of, dare I say, laziness."

Two were conceived with Lee’s sperm and one with Harris’—and all three children are due within the next seven months.

“When we told our families we are having our first surrogate baby, they were so excited for us, as they know for the past 15 years we’ve dreamed of having a family of our own,” Harris told The Sun. “When we told them we were having a second baby they were amazed. And then, when we announced we’re actually having three babies of our own they were stunned but overjoyed.”

Texas State Sen. Donna Campbell has proposed a constitutional amendment allowing private businesses and government contractors to refuse to hire or do business with gay people under the guise of religious liberty.

Towleroad reports that, if passed, the measure would undermine  local nondiscrimination laws through the state and open up the government to all kinds of litigation based on religious objections.

"What about religiously motivated discrimination by one religion against another?" says civil-rights attorney Jenny Pizer. "What if the Jewish doctors decided to stop providing medical services to Christian fundamentalists?

Last year, Campbell  told the Houston Chronicle “our Judeo-Christian values are under assault and I’m not going to let that stand."

But Todd Bosnich, who claimed DeMaio openly masturbated in front of him, has been arrested for assaulting his mother: During an argument, Bosnich allegedly pushed his mother, disabled her phone and threw a drinking glass at her.

Yesterday he was arrested on battery and assault with a deadly weapon charges.

DeMaio's campaign maintained Bosnich was originally fired from his position as campaign policy director because he plagiarized an article, and later accused him of  breaking into campaign headquarters, smashing computers and cutting phone lines, and giving documents to DeMaio's Democratic opponent just days before the primary.
