Gina's got practice playing hunty divas in Showgirls and Ugly Betty , but we would have liked to have seen Maya Rudolph take the part.

One heterosexual Iowa couple isn't having it when it comes to anti-gay prejudice: Jason and Sarah Hankel-Hoffman cancelled their plan to get married at Görtz Haus Gallery because the owners turned away a gay couple, claiming "gay marriage is inferior to heterosexual marriage."  Maybe, but our money is just as good.

Longtime partners Lily Tomlin and Jane Wagner haven't always been open about their relationship, but the creative couple did disclose they're looking to make it legal.  At a pre-Emmy party last night, Tomlin dished she and Wagner want to get married now that DOMA and Prop 8 are in the dustbin: "Jane and I have been together for 42 years. We're thinking maybe we'll get married. You don't really need to get married, but marriage is awfully nice," she told reporters. San Antonio Councilwoman Elisa Chan stands by her comment earlier that homosexuality "[is] just disgusting." "Whatever you want to do in your bedroom is none of my business, but do not impose your view on other people, especially becoming policy ... because personally, I think it's just disgusting just to even think about. All the definitions." Chan also explained that homosexuality isn't genetic and that gays shouldn't adopt children. "They should be banned by adoption. You're going to confuse r-DEEP-IN-THE-DARK-large570those kids. They should be banned."  Confronted by her prejudiced comments, Chan defended them as her First Amendment right: " I will always fight for our freedom of speech, especially in a private setting." What a patriot!

Don't say porn never did anything good for anyone: Monarchy Distribution, a gay-porn outfit out of Los Angeles, has launched  a gay porn studio that will donate 100% of its profits to supporting LGBT rights internationally. Owner Mike Kulich told XBIZ he created Boys Town Studios "to help the people suffering all over the world and living in persecuting countries using the best way I know how: making quality porn.... Anyone will be able to write Boys Town Studios and tell their stories about how bigotry and homophobia has affected their lives, and we will step into help those victims as much as we can." Profits from the studio's upcoming first film, Deep In The Dark, will benefit gay Russians seeking asylum in the West.

Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia says gays are a made-up minority. No, not that we wear makeup—as in we're fictional. Talking to the right-wing Federalist Society in Montana yesterday, Scary Scalia claimed “It’s not up to the courts to invent new minorities that get special protections." Yeah, invented minorities like women, African-Americans and other groups whose rights have been purposefully enshrined in the Constitution.
