Tom Daley and Dustin Lance Black Announce Son’s Birth With Adorable Baby Photos

The power couple was married last spring.

Olympic diver Tom Daley, 24, and Oscar-winning filmmaker Dustin Lance Black, 44, are officially parents: Robert Ray Black-Daley was born Wednesday, June 28.

"Welcome to the world our precious little Robbie Ray Black-Daley," Daley wrote earlier today on social media. "The amount of love and joy you have brought into our life is immeasurable, our precious little son."

"Welcome to the world little Robbie Ray," Black wrote. "Thank you for bringing so much love and light with you. And thank you to those who helped make our dream of having a family into this wonderful reality.

The couple, who shared tasteful black-and-white photos of their new arrival, also made the birth announcement in the Times of London, which previously published their engagement announcement.

Black and Daley revealed on Valentine's Day that they were expecting a child via surrogate and were met with significant online criticism.

"We have an egg donor and a surrogate and we feel very lucky," Daley responded. "I get tons [of abuse] every day, but at the end of the day, I'm married with a kid on the way and I don't care what anyone says."

Discussing the possibility of raising children in a 2015 interview, Daley said he would be the "bad cop" parent: “If the kid were to smile at Lance, he’d break.”

Daley and Black were married last May after announcing their engagement in October 2015. Daley went public with their relationship in 2013 following a YouTube video in which he spoke publicly about his sexuality for the first time.
