A new Elton John biopic, Rocketman, is in the works, and it looks like producers are hoping Brit cutie Tom Hardy will take on the role of Elton in the film.

Described as, "a biographical musical fantasy that weaves together the life of Sir Elton John and his music," the role is sure to grab the interest in most of Hollywood's A-list men after seeing the success Michael Douglas just had playing Liberace in Behind the Candelabra.

Commercials helmer Michael Gracey has been selected to direct, and while a formal offer has not gone out to Hardy, we are all for this casting.

Make it happen Hollywood.
