Michael Sam was a seventh-round NFL Draft pick, but orders for his St. Louis Rams jersey are through the roof. Outsports reports his shirt is the second-highest of any NFL rookie drafted this weekend, right after the Cleveland Browns' Johnny Manziel, whose jersey went on sale two whole days earlier.  "This is unprecedented for a Day 3 pick, let alone a seventh-round pick, to crack the top five rookies sold following Draft weekend," said NFL spokesperson Joanna Hunter.

To celebrate its hosting of World Pride 2014, the city of Toronto is inviting 200 same-sex couples to tie the knot at A Celebration of Love on June 26 at Casa Loma in midtown.  Couples from around the world are welcome to participate, even those from nations that don't recognize marriage equality, in what's being billed as the "biggest international LGBTQ wedding in history"

City council member Kristyn Wong-Tam, who is openly gay, believes the event will "demonstrate that this is a city of equality and inclusive values, a city that celebrates all its diverse communities."

What if the National Organization for Marriage threw a protest and nobody came?

NOM is protesting outside the Richmond, Virginia, courthouse where an appeal to the verdict that struck down the state's marriage-equality ban is being heard. But while more than 1,500 people were invited "to gather and pray for the restitution of marriage and a return to the Rule of Law," only 63 RSVPed on the Stand for Marriage rally Facebook page.

"The NOM “Dump Starbucks” boycott that followed seems anemic two years later... but Starbucks  remains a plump target for a more effectual and better organized boycott," says LaBarbera, head of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality.  "We’ll see what happens, but one thing is certain: Starbucks execs are not backing down in their support of sexual sin and they surely aren’t acting like they fear the consumer power of mobilized religious conservatives."

Isn't that two things?

Matthew Hamby and Christopher Shelden, who were wed in Canada in 2008 and renewed their vows in Utah last year, said they joined the suit  "because marriage should be available to all loving couples. It's important to us that our family is recognized by the State of Alaska and that we have the same rights and privileges as others."

Alaska Attorney General Michael Geraghty has said he will continue to defend the ban.

donald sterling magic johnsonDonald Sterling just can't stop digging himself deeper: ALready banned for life from the NBA for racist comments to his girlfriend, the embattled owner of the L.A. Clippers told Anderson Cooper last night that Magic Johnson “should be ashamed of himself” for having AIDS. (Note: Johnson doesn't have AIDS—he is HIV-positive)

“He’s got AIDS. What has he done, big Magic Johnson, what has he done?” said Sterling, 80. “He acts so holy. He made love to every girl in every city in America, and he had AIDS... Is he an example for children?... Is that someone we want to respect, and tell our kids about? I think he should be ashamed of himself.”
