T.R. Knight Talks; Says Washington Did Call Him "Faggot"

UPDATE: Thanks to Alan, we just got the YouTube clip of T.R.'s appearance on today's Ellen. He does a great job!

Eurweb.com has a transcript up of today's Ellen Degeneres interview with Grey's Anatomy star T.R. Knight, and given what happened at The Golden Globes on Monday, it's a doozy. Knight confirms all of the details regarding the incident on the Grey's Anatomy set last October. Here is part of the transcipt:

Ellen: So Patrick Dempsey and Isaiah Washington are on the set. A scene is about to start and they starting getting in a fight and words...

T.R: Not because I was late.

Ellen: And Isaiah Washington says what to Patrick Dempsey?

T.R: He referred to me as a faggot.

Ellen: As a faggot?

T.R: Yes.

Ellen: So you're around the corner and hear this?

T.R: It's an awesome word, isn't it? (joking)

Later they talk about The Golden Globes when Washington grabbed the mic during a Q&A to insist he had never called T.R. a faggot

Ellen: And the other night at the Golden Globes I guess Isaiah Washington starting up the whole thing up again which is kind of crazy...

Ellen: I don't either, other than it seems like at this point and time we should not say hateful words to one another and we should all learn...

Well, I do know what to say. It's about time this whole incident gets the attention it deserves and hopefully both ABC and the producers of Grey's Anatomy will be forced to do what they should've done from the very beginning: publicly repudiate what Washington said. I said it back in October, and I'll say it again: if T.R. Knight had said something as hateful about Isaiah, the outcome would likely have been very different.

Kudos to Ellen and T.R. for discussing this openly.

As for Isaiah Washington, stay tuned. I've little doubt this story is over. We're working to get comments from all involved.
