Trans Model, Lesbian Nurse Finalists in PETA’s “Sexiest Vegan” Contest

Chancellor and Jasmine need your votes to win a Hawaiian vacation.

A trans model from Utah and lesbian nurse from Virginia are finalists this year in PETA’s annual “Sexiest Vegan Next Door” contest

The two vocal LGBTQ and animal rights activists beat out hundreds of entrants from across the country to advance to the final round of 20 contestants, who are vying for bragging rights and a trip for two to Hawaii, courtesy of Humane Travel.

Salt Lake City resident Chancellor Rose Partington, a runway model, is the first trans model to sign with the agency representing him. He also works in client services at an animal hospital.

You guys!! I’m a finalist for PETA’s sexiest vegan next door 2019! Can you believe it?! I’m shook rn. I’m truly honored to be able to share my vegan lifestyle with you and to share the stage with a lot of amazing vegans. Definitely a high caliber group and I’m proud of be part of it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I fight for equality for all and my hope is that I inspire you to be a better version of yourself. I believe if you don't have equality in one aspect of society, then you can't expect it anywhere else. That's what a vegan lifestyle is about for me— a way to help make sure everyone is treated right, including animals. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Please vote for me! You can vote once a day. I’m hoping to use my voice to help fight for equal rights for everyone. Make your girl a winner! Link in my bio ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Thanks for the love and support. “What was done to the Jewish people from whom I descend is the same horrific treatment endured by nonhuman animals today,” says Partington, whose grandfather was a Holocaust survivor. “My grandfather’s tremendous courage gave me life. I see it as my moral duty and honor to dedicate it in service to those less fortunate.”

“Our existence is the resistance,” he writes on Instagram. “Our flourishing is the rebellion.”

Jasmine Nakasone, a licensed vocational nurse, also runs a vegan lifestyle blog. She lives in Chesterfield with her wife, their daughter, and two adopted dogs.

Today I turn 34! I’m so grateful for this special day. I have learned so much about myself. I’ve learned to love who I am, weirdness and all. I’ve learned that in order to give love to other that I must first love myself. Ive learned that life is how you make it. That I am the author of my story. I would tell my younger self that everything will be ok and to enjoy the ride. I’m so grateful for where I’ve been, where I am and where I’m going. Thank you to my amazing family for always loving me and for showering me with so much awesomeness today! To anyone who needs it, I’m sending you love on this day. Hope you’re day is amazing ✨ – I’m entering #PetasSexiestVegan 2019 contest! I decided to embrace a vegan lifestyle when I learned about the inhumane treatment and suffering animals endure during “food” production. I watched Meet Your Meat and never touched animal product since. My vegan journey started with being an advocate for the animals. Now it has evolved to being an advocate for Mother Earth and those that inhabit it. Veganism has changed my life for the better. It started with food, then to clothes and ingredients in food and makeup, then to being eco-friendly, which lead me to law of attraction – manifesting a world and life I want to live in. If I can encourage just one person to go vegan, my mission is complete. If I could encourage just one person to be more mindful about the products they use and clothing decisions, my mission is complete. And if I could spare just one animal from suffering, being torn away from their family, from being injected with antibiotics, from being tortured and exploited… my mission is complete. Please know that going vegan goes beyond the food.it helps our climate and eco-system. It helps our planet, Mother Earth. Remember that compassion is sexy. Thank you

“Both of these passionate vegans are committed to standing up for justice—for everyone,” says PETA executive vice president Tracy Reiman in a statement. “All the finalists in PETA’s Sexiest Vegan Next Door contest prove that there’s nothing sexier than making the world a kinder place.”
