A transgender woman and two men were shot and killed on the east side of Detroit on Saturday.

Police responded to a home where the two men, ages 20 and 21, were found dead and the trans woman, 20, was taken to the hospital where she passed away from her injuries. She is so far unnamed, as are the other victims. The identity of the gunman is also unknown, but the police released a photo of a man of interest (below) and are asking the public for assistance in identifying him.

A witness told Click On Detroit, an NBC affiliate, she heard yelling followed by gunshots.

"One person ran out the front door and ran down the street. Inside the living room area, two people were shot inside the house on the first floor. One other victim had run down the stairs after being shot," said Detroit Police Capt. Michael Dicicco.

The yet unnamed trans victim is at least the sixth transgender person killed in the United States this year, all of whom died as a result of gun violence.

Update: The victim has been identified as Paris Cameron, and police have arrested and charged 18-year-old Devon Robinson with three counts of first-degree murder, two counts of assault with intent to murder, and five counts of the use of firearm in connection with a felony.

“This case illustrates the mortal danger faced by members of Detroit’s LGBTQ community, including transgender women of color," said Alanna Maguire, president of Fair Michigan. "The LGBTQ community knows that the Fair Michigan Justice Project, the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office and the Detroit Police Department stand ready to aggressively prosecute these brutal crimes.”

Prosecutors have said the victims were targeted because they were members of the LGBTQ community. In addition to Cameron, Alunte Davis, 21, and Timothy Blancher, 20, were also shot and killed. Two others were also shot but survived.
