Trans Woman Murdered In Russia Just Days After Her Wedding
A transgender Muslim woman was reportedly murdered just days after marrying her husband in Russia.
Raina Aliev's body was hacked into unrecognizable pieces, according to reports from Yahoo News.
The victim's father, Alimshaikh Aliev, allegedly called for his own daughter to be murdered, repeatedly misgendering her in the process, in a broadcast on a Russian TV station.
"Let him be killed, I don't want to see him," he reportedly said. "Bring him here and kill him in front of my eyes."
A neighbor to the family informed the Russian Dialog news site that the victim's father reportedly issued a "purman," which invited people to kill Raina, when he found out she'd be marrying a man who approved of her trans identity.
"He cheated them, he went there to Moscow, had surgery and he turned from a boy to a girl," the neighbor said. "His mother is saying, 'I don’t want to see him, I gave birth to a son, but what for? It is such a disgrace for the family.'"
The murder is still under investigation.
