The Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund will be having their 8th anniversary benefit in NYC on June 3, honoring  BNP Paribas, Dr. Marci L. Bowers, and David Mixner for their inspiring work on behalf of LGBT people.

Other guests in attendance will include Lance Bass and Coy Mathis, the 6-year-old transgender Colorado girl who was banned from using her school's girls' bathroom, sparking a national outrage. TLDEF has since filed a complaint with Colorado’s civil rights division on the Mathises’ behalf.

This brave, brave first-grader is now at the center of a case that will test Colorado’s anti-discrimination law, which expanded to include protections for transgender persons in 2008.

Tickets for the event, which will be held at The Art Directors Club Gallery, are still available and can be purchased here.
