Trixie Mattel Documentary Gets Digital Release Date and Acoustic Soundtrack

Get ready to Trixie and chill.

Trixie Mattel: Moving Parts made the festival rounds earlier this year, and now the award-winning documentary is set to be released on VOD next month.

The film, directed by Nick Zeig-Owens, follows Trixie (real name Brian Firkus) over a year of her life as she experiences the highest highs and lowest lows of being one of the most popular drag queens on the planet.

“I think that this film does a really good job of showing that on the flip side of a coin, drag can be so fierce. And so many moments last year we were like, ’Oh my God, I can’t believe this happening,’” the RuPaul’s Drag Race winner told NewNowNext earlier this year. “And so many parts of last year were also like, ’Oh, this is the worst day of my life, and there’s no handbook to handle it.’”

You can curl up on your couch and watch the Skinny Legend from the comfort of your own home when Moving Parts hits VOD platforms (iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, etc.) December 3 in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and other select territories around the world.

Entertainment Weekly reports that an acoustic soundtrack featuring original music from the film will be released later in December. Sounds like the perfect holiday present to us. Stuff our stockings, mom!

Pre-order Trixie Mattel: Moving Parts here, and keep an eye out for future info on the soundtrack release date.

I write about drag queens. Dolly Parton once ruffled my hair and said I was "just the cutest thing ever."
