Troye Sivan "Going Rogue," Will Drop New Music Next Week

And he's giving money to artists hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic.

My, my, my—Troye Sivan has been productive while self-isolating!

On March 20 the out Aussie singer posted on Instagram that he is "going rogue," alerting his record label of his intention to release new music ASAP and help out artists who are financially hurting due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"Would like to release new music I just decided," Sivan wrote. "Freelance artists (graphic designers, animation artists) HMU I want to work with you and take the money I would be spending on music videos and give it to you. This is a tough and scary time, and I feel so lucky to have music and art to get me through emotionally and financially, and I want to share that so bad."

The following day he tweeted a snippet of his new song, which continues the Blue Neighborhood synth-pop vibe we've come to expect from the "Bloom" singer.

Sivan has now made it official: His new single, "Take Yourself Home," will be available April 1 on iTunes and all other streaming services. This will be his first release since last year's collaboration with Lauv, "I'm So Tired...," and his first solo project since his 2018 album, Bloom.

"Take Yourself Home" sounds like the self-isolation bop we didn't know we needed! Consider it already added to our COVID-19 playlist.
