‘True Blood’: Who Will Be Russell’s New Boyfriend?

True Blood returns this Sunday, and with it Vampire King Russell Edgington, who Bill and Eric clearly did a very, very poor job killing. Actor Dennis O’Hare, who plays Edgington, also revealed that the new kinder and gentler Russell will also come with a new man. One who he said was at the premiere of the new season in LA last week, so let’s start speculating.

Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard)
Pro: He has got to be pansexual and already banged Russell’s ex.
Con: In love with Sookie, also killed Russell’s ex during said banging.
Verdict: If it is going to be a major character Eric would make the most sense. His sexuality has always seemed fluid and maybe he will be trying to win Russell’s affection with some man love. That being said, he will likely still be chasing Sookie. Again.

Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer)
Pro: He seems like the kind of guy who would enjoy a hate fu*k. Remember him and Lorena?
Con: Also in love with that giant drip Sookie.
Verdict: Unless it is a ploy to murder Russell this likely will not be happening.

Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten)
Pro: We really want this to happen.
Con: There is no way this is happening.
Verdict: Hey, we can dream can’t we?

Kibwe (Peter Mensah)
Pro: New character, looks to be the same age as Russell and was at the premiere.
Con: We know nothing about him.
Verdict: If we had to bet we would say Kibwe is the guy. We debated googling and seeing if we could find his role in the books, if he even had one, but that would ruin the fun.

Amilyn (Paul Reubens)
Pro: Plays a vampire and was at the premiere.
Con: Plays a vampire in the 1992 film Buffy the Vampire Slayer and not True Blood.
Verdict: Missed opportunity producers. Think of all the crossover appeal this would have had.
