Trump Hotel In Chicago Lit Up In Rainbow Colors For Pride

The colorful display reportedly only lasted for one night.

In a surprising move, the Trump International Hotel & Tower in Chicago lit up with rainbow colors this week to commemorate Pride month.

The colorful display was sighted by a local NBC reporter, who tweeted out a photo of the hotel Tuesday evening.

The rainbow lasted for only one night, which had some theorizing that the display was set up by a "renegade staffer." Joe Jervis over at JoeMyGod even reached out to the hotel to get an official statement from the marketing department, but was told that no such statement existed.

If the hotel did in fact purposefully choose to light up in rainbow colors, it would be in contrast to Trump's treatment of the LGBT community since he assumed the presidency in January.

Not only did he refuse to officially acknowledge June as Pride month, he's gutted Obama-era orders protecting LGBT federal contractors and vowed to slash hundreds of millions from the federal HIV/AIDS budget.

Regardless of whether or not it has Trump's support, the Chicago Pride Parade will wind its way through Boystown this Sunday, led by Grand Marshall Lea DeLaria of Orange Is The New Black fame.
