Jonathan+Waud2
Just a little preview of the hotness in this week's post!

--By Cory Stottlemyer

In honor of Levi Johnston's upcoming Playgirl editorial, this week's post is dedicated to hunky men! I'd say that's a pretty fabulous week.

5. Oprah's Nate gets his own show!

Nateberkus

Gosh darn, he's adorable!

The ever so cuddly-looking Nate Berkus is getting his own show! I think we all knew it was just a matter of time before the magic power of Oprah spread to her favorite designer. Let's hope he's far more endearing than Oprah's past spin-offs (*cough* Dr. Phil *cough* Rachael Ray *cough*).

Bootylicious reality stars, hot mythical creatures and sexy males models after the jump!

And judges Santino Rice and fashion journalist Meryl Ginsberg are both back too.

From the looks of the clip above, it looks like we're getting more gloss, more acrobatics (splits!), messy drama, maybe a medical emergency and some bitch-slappery!

Lady Gaga Talks Up her Gossip Girl Gig & Her Tour. But What the Hell Is She Saying?

Maybe I've not sipped enough of my giant McCafe this morning (think if I write that McDonald's will send me freebies?), but I can't for the life of me figure out what the hell Lady Gaga is talking about when she describes what her music performance is gonna be like on Gossip Girl on November 19th. Can someone help me translate this? A 35-foot-long dress? Chuck Bass will be totes jealous.

And, remember when the Scissor Sisters performed on Passions? Now, that was some smooth pop-meets-TV magic!

In more Lady Gaga interviews, she also tells MTV's Sway all about her big Monster Ball tour (which sounds amazingly bonkers), her collabo w/Adam Lambert, her rise to fame, the Haus of Gaga, and lots of other batty sh*t. Enjoy, Pumpkins!!!

This Week In Fabulous 10/30: Naked Comedians, Obnoxiously Cute Gay Boys and a Benevolent Bea Arthur!

Beaarthur

Bea Arthur is the definition of class (and sometimes crass). This week's post is for you my dear!

--By Cory Stottlemyer

This week, there's a lot of pretty going on. For all the women and men who love Chelsea Handler, you'll get a kick out of her news!

5. Meet White Collar hottie Matt Bomer.

Mattbomer
All I can say is: swoon. Seriously, those eyes! Is he single? Because I doubt he will be for long!

Blah blah blah, USA has a new show called White Collar, blah blah blah, it's about an ex-con who is now working for the FBI or something to catch criminals, blah blah blah. All you need to know is that Matt Bomer is the star and he is gorgeous. And he's openly gay (says Wikipedia)! Does Neil Patrick Harris have some newfound competition for hottest out gay actor?

Sexy comedians, cute gay boys and singing celebrities after the jump!

This Week In Fabulous 10/16: Burlesque Dancers, Chart-Topping Divas and a Gleeful Madonna!

Gagamadonna
Now this is a fabulous pairing. Hopefully Madonna will wise up and collaborate with the amazingness that is Lady Gaga!

--By Cory Stottlemyer

Lots of fabulous news has happened concerning female singers this week. I'm not complaining!

5. Kristen Bell is joining the cast of the new Cher/Christina Aguilera movie!

Kristen Bell of Veronica Mars, Heroes and Gossip Girl fame, will be playing the role of a cabaret singer in the new Cher/Christina Aguilera flick, Burlesque. Cher plays the owner of a struggling cabaret, and Kristen will be playing her number one girl. If you have never heard Kristen sing, then have a listen above. Christina has some competition!

Lots of singing divas after the jump!

The Daily Show Covers the DC March: Gay Ninjas? Radical Agendas! An AWOL Fox News!

The fab gay-loving folks at The Daily Show (no homo) served up their coverage of Sunday's big National Equality March in DC, in which Jon Stewart and co. called Fox News to task for not covering it, and just making fun of anyone who's still not aware of the necessity and simple validity of LGBT folks' campaign for equal rights. God(dess) bless 'em!

They also sent their very funny correspondent John Oliver there on the ground to expose the "radical gay agenda" for what it is: A bunch of nice folks who just wanna be loved and treated equally. God**mn those sneaky gays!!!

Enjoy! P.S. When can I join the "gay army!???"

Yes, Logo's Big Gay House-Husbands Reality Show Is in the Works. Yikes! What Do You Think?

450x250_GayCelebs
Will any good powergays (and their men) come forward for "Kept"? Let's hope...

After seeing posts on Gawker and RadarOnline last Friday about Logo's big new gay "Real Houseboys of New York" series (that's my title, not theirs), I had to try and get confirmation from this from my Logo colleagues here. Here's what I found out...

YES, there is a show like this actually in the works, and True Entertainment, the folks who produce The Real Housewives of Atlanta and HGTV's Design Star (not to mention The Gastineau Girls -- ouch!) are behind it.

YES, they're gonna be casting in NYC any moment now. And while the working title of the show is "Kept" (Ewwwww! I hope they rethink that; remember that Jerry Hall mess?) the focus won't just be on couples in a rich-guy/kept-boy scenario. More like the Real Housewives the show will likely aim to focus on couples and colorful gay professionals just working and thriving here in NYC.

Frankly, the possibilities are staggering. NYC is full of gay power couples, each with its own dynamics... Jann Wenner & Matt Nye; Marc Jacobs & Lorenzo Martone... How about the fabulous Padilha brothers behind MAO PR? They'd be amazing TV. Uberglam fashionistas The Blonds (you get a husband and a hot wife!)? Or how about porn magnate Michael Lucas and his businessman hubby Richard Winger? Oh, the mind reels...

Just about anybody in gay NYC knows prominent media gays, publicists, event planners, DJs, party promoters, Broadway producers... The casting possibilities are endless. Let's hope that this is tackled in some way that's not inherently embarrassing. OR, more to the point, let's just hope it's a big sprawling gay train wreck that'll be chronicling demented homo drama from Fashion Week to Fire Island; from Therapy to Sugarland; from GLAAD cocktail shindigs to Bana Pool Parties... In the words of RuPaul: "Don't f**k it up, yo."

And can we maybe get a Kim Zolciak and NeNe cameo in there? Please?

VMAs Aftermath: Kanye, Taylor, Beyonce, Gaga & More!

B didn't win "Best Female Vid" but this live "Single Ladies" perf left no doubters out there...

The VMAs brought it last night, majorly. Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance of her "Best Female" trophy and the crowds on Facebook, Twitter and everywhere went bonkers with the Kayne-bashing. Watch the freaky moment after the jump. Kanye later apologized on his blog, but... Whatta mess!

Then, when Beyonce did win Video of the Year for "Single Ladies" she graciously invited Taylor Swift back onstage to fully complete her interrupted acceptance moment. Very classy, that Beyonce.

And we got a moving MJ tribute from Madonna, a MJ-tribute performance featuring Janet Jackson honoring her brother, and a bloody-fabulous peformance from Lady Gaga (and her fashions throughout the show were legendary brilliance), who also won the Best New Artist moon-man, saying she did it "for God and the Gays!" Pink served "Sober" and Taylor Swift took a subway ride for her "You Belong with Me" performance.

Jay-Z closed the show with a fantastic delivery of his new "Empire State of Mind," with a little help from Alicia Keys. (Now that's how a classy rapper does it!) But what the hell was Lil Mama doing up onstage at the end. Wha? Security!??!

More clips after the jump and on the VMAs site.

Gay Brothers to be Contestants on New Season of "Amazing Race!" Meet Them Now!

Brothers-Slash-Contestants Dan and Sam McMillen

-- By Jenny Hagel

CBS just announced contestants for the new season of The Amazing Race and - get this! - one of the teams is a pair of (handsome) gay brothers!

Dan and Sam McMillen of Liberty, Missouri are scheduled to compete in Season 15 of one of the greatest Travel Porn...er, reality shows of all time.

The McMillens, both students in their early twenties, were reportedly not that close until they came out to each other last summer. The guys claim they're not worried about flack from other contestants - as out gay Christians, they're used to defending themselves.

Wanna know more about the McMillen boys? Click above to hear them introduce themselves - and reveal their strategy for using their gayness (gayitude? gayosity?) to their advantage!

All in all, Dan and Sam seem like nice, normal, down-to-earth guys...which will make it even more of a shame when they freak out at 4am in an airport in Reykjavík over who ate the last Laufabrauð.

Season 15 of The Amazing Race premieres Sunday, Sept 27th at 8pm on CBS. Don't miss it!

Good luck Dan and Sam!

Tyra Makes Perez Say He Feels Bad About Mocking Celebs! Almost!

NNN Tyra Banks

This Face Would Make Me Apologize For Anything

-- By Jenny Hagel

The new season of The Tyra Banks show premiered yesterday and oh, geez, where to start?!

First, Tyra joins in a spontaneous Lady Dance Off in Union Square Park.

THEN, she reveals her Reeeaaaal Haaaaiiir (read aloud in scary Halloween voice).

But, the pièce de résistance? She tries to pressure Perez Hilton into saying that he feels BAD ABOUT SLAMMING CELEBRITIES. Have to see it to believe it? Click here for clips of these unintentionally hilarious events.

Later this season, tune in as Tyra gets water to apologize for being wet and a tree admits he feels bad about being so leafy.

Fox to Release "Glee" Soundtrack!

NNN Glee Cast

The Cast of Fox's "Glee" at a Recent Q&A Session

-- By Jenny Hagel

Fresh out of show tunes? Looking for new numbers to perform in your shower or harmonize with on your commute?

Look no further!

Fox and Columbia Records have announced plans to release a series of soundtracks from Fox’s upcoming musical dramedy “Glee!”

“Glee: The Music, Volume 1” boasts an insanely eclectic track list ranging from “Can’t Fight This Feeling” to “Gold Digger.” (I'm not making that one up.)

Who would want to listen to a bunch of glee club covers? LOTS of people, it turns out. The cast’s version of “Don’t Stop Believin’” recently hit No. 1 on the iTunes chart. If their Journey cover is that good, I can't WAIT to hear their rendition of Young MC's "Bust a Move." (I'm not making that one up either! It's like Cover Christmas!)

The first soundtrack will be available November 3rd – but you don’t have to wait that long to start believin’ in “Glee.” The series premieres September 9th (that’s tomorrow!) at 9pm on Fox.

Don’t miss it!

Megan Mullally to join cast of Starz Network’s comedy “Party Down!” Read on!

NNN Megan Mullally
Megan Mullally

-- By Jenny Hagel

The bad news? Jane Lynch, everyone’s favorite out character actress, is leaving the cast of Starz Network’s brilliant comedy Party Down to appear in Fox’s upcoming series Glee.

The good news? She’s being replaced by Megan Mullally!

Starz announced this week that the former Will & Grace star (Oh, and two-time Emmy winner. No big deal.) will join the cast of Party Down for season two, scheduled to premiere in April 2010. Mullally will play a mom who moves to Hollywood to help her 13-year-old daughter Escapade pursue her acting dreams.

What’s that? You’re not watching Party Down? Quick. Take this quiz:

True or False?

1. I do not enjoy laughing.

2. I am uninterested in hilarity.

3. I hate amazing things.

If you answered “True” to any of the above questions, continue not watching Party Down. Otherwise, the Starz Network (Unofficial Slogan: The Channel You’re Not Sure You Have) was nice enough to make past episodes available through Starz On Demand. Go watch them!

Party on, Megan!

Project Runway's All Stars Get Their Fill of Santino Rice

SantinoAllStars
Rice Queen: Santino stirs it up! Bravo!

Has all of his time away from TV turned Tim Gunn into a big nervous nellie??? It sort of sounds that way. AfterElton.com has a fun post up about tomorrow night's big special Project Runway All-Stars special (8pm ET), which brings back a bunch of the best from past seasons of PR to compete in a one-off design throwdown.

They rounded up a great group -- Chris March, Sweet P, Jeffrey Sebelia, Korto, Uli, Daniel Vosovic, Michael Knight (sorry, no Laura Bennett or Christian Siriano). But evidently the big troublemaker in the show is (surprise) Santino Rice! In fact, Tim Gunn is quoted (practically hyperventilating) saying things like "I was as close to a psychotic breakdown as I’ve ever been."

AllStarsGroupShot
Have you missed these fashion messes?

Why the drama? Blame Santino! "I don’t want to give him anymore press," said Gunn. "But that Santino Rice -- I was ready to take a cyanide capsule. I mean, he just sucks all the air out of a room." Oh lordy, Tim. Sounds like great TV to me!

Get more of Tim's kvetching on AfterElton.com. Strangely, none of the folks working on RuPaul's Drag Race have complained about Santino's histrionics. Maybe Tim should have called in Shannel to put Santino in his place. Lord knows she would have welcomed the opportunity.

Cobra Starship's Gabe and Crew Serve Up "West Side Story" for the VMAs

Cobra Starship amuse me. I own none of their music, but I love to watch their antics. AND, I love the lil' "West Side Story"-themed promo they shot for the big 2009 MTV Video Music Awards coming live on Sept 13th. Leighton Meester also appears, just er, because she can.

Can I suggest that everything shot in NYC from now on be West Side Story-themed? Everything is better when it's got hot retro-choreography and tight jeans.

View the actual promo above, and a behind-the-scenes chat with cute Starshippers Gabe and Ryalnd below.

I like it when the boys use dance-y terms like "step-ball-change" and Lycra.

P.S. Lady Gaga and Jay-Z are gonna bring their own glorious overblown sense of crazy showmanship to the VMAs this year, too. Zoinks!

Vogue Evolution: Read the Fierce AfterElton Interview!

VogueEvolutionAEGroup
The children of Vogue Evolution are bringing it to ABDC.

A new season of the scorchingly fun MTV dance competition show, America's Best Dance Crew has begun, and I gotta say I've got a special place in my heart for Vogue Evolution, the show's first-ever all-gay dance posse.

It's not just that these children are family and they're from NYC (like me!), it's also that they've got hearts as big as anything, and they're on a mission to inspire other gay kids and show the world how artful voguing truly is.

Read the new interview up on AfterElton and you'll be impressed, too.

The Newlywed Game Wants Gay Couples!

Carnie-Wilson_5F00_The-Newlywed-Game
Carnie says: "Here come the brides! And the gay husbands too, please!"

If ya didn't know, this past spring the Game Show Network cooked up a new version of the doofy TV classic, The Newlywed Game. Hosted by Carnie Wilson, it revisited the joy you can experience watching newly hitched yahoos answer embarrassing questions about each other on TV. (The old, campy version from te 1970s hosted by Bob Eubanks was a gawdy gem.)

They're now gearing up for season 2 of the new version and lo and behold -- they want gay couples to join in on the fun/embarrassment. Maybe it's because the show is sponsored by eHarmony.com, who got sued not so long ago for not allowing same-sex couples to use their matchmaking site to hook up. Whatevs. I'm thrilled that gays and lesbian marrieds can now be forced to answer mortifying questions about their new mates (and their sex lives) on TV. Let the blushing, bickering and recriminations begin!

But better yet, you know that when couples on The Newlywed Game get answers right, they always smooch to celebrate. Will the Game Show Network show us gays in our celebratory lip-locked glory? They sure better! Mwahhh!

Vogue Evolution's Leiomy Talks About Being Transgender with MTV's Remote Control Blog

Leiomy
Leiomy is planning on bringing the fierceness to the upcoming season of America's Best Dance Crew!

Leiomy, one of the fierce members of the dance crew Vogue Evolution, talks about being transgender with MTV's Remote Control Blog. She talks about her family and who she dates.

That's all totally fabulous; big props to her. But let's have some dancing! I definitely can't wait to see her in action!!! I've only seen a short clip of Vogue Evolution dancing so far, and let me tell you, they are a force to be reckoned with. Can't wait for the next season of America's Best Dance Crew to premier this Sunday night at 9 pm ET!

This Week In Fabulous 8/7: Kissing Cops, the B-52s, and Hugh Jackman Being Fabulous!

Grrrrr? Nice to know there's a song and dance man behind that waxen scowl.

It's once again time for "This Week In Fabulous," where I tell you all about everything that happened in the past 7 days that was truly and utterly wonderful. Lots of beautiful men fill this post once again. Check it out below!

5. New Where the Wild Things Are movie trailer!

This one is for everyone who wants to get in touch with their inner child. A new Where the Wild Things Are trailer has come out and the movie looks fantastic! I'm really glad they decided not to use CGI to create the monsters...too fake looking for my taste. The movie looks incredible, so I'm sure that people of all ages will be flocking to the theaters to see this!

Paula Abdul Gets the Big Gay Sketch Show Treatment

As we all know (sob!), Paula Abdul won't be back for another season of American Idol. And while that may seem like reason enough to cease functioning or going on hunger strike or taking other drastic measures, don't fret. Those cheeky kids at Logo's Big Gay Sketch Show have managed to milk some humor out of this dire occasion.

Actually, the above clip is a sneak peek at the upcoming Season 3 of the BGSS (due in early 2010), but the timing is perfect for this now, sooo... Here you go!

Enjoy! Paula would want it that way...

Paula Abdul Is Leaving American Idol!

Paulaabdul
Paula, why are you leaving us? Who will make nonsensical and almost riddle-like remarks to the singers now?

It is with sad news that I must tell you that Paula Abdul is leaving American Idol for good. Apparently, a financial agreement couldn't be reached between Abdul and Idol producers. Abdul broke the news through her official Twitter feed.

I just want to know what the heck the Idol producers are thinking? Not only has Abdul been there from the beginning, but she's clearly the most entertaining part of the judging panel! I already miss seeing a slightly out of it Abdul slur out a critique while the other judges and singers try their best not to giggle. Watch the video below of Paula doing what she does best.

It's a sad day in America, indeed.

VMA Video of the Year Nominees Announced!

Funny man and this year's VMA host Russell Brand announces the list of Video of the Year nominees and reveals his personal favorite.

MTV has released this year's nominees for Video of the Year for the upcoming 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. Britney Spears' "Womanizer," Beyoncé's "Single Ladies," Eminem's "We Made You," Lady Gaga's "Poker Face" and Kanye West's "Love Lockdown" will all compete September 13 for the top spot.

While I think it's a good list, I would have loved to see a couple other videos for each artist nominated. I would have rather seen Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" and Britney's "Circus" videos nominated instead, but the videos that were chosen are close seconds. I'm guessing the award is either going to newcomer Gaga or Beyonce, who has yet to win Video of the Year. We'll just have to wait and see on September 13th who takes the Moon Man!

Check out the stellar videos after the jump!

American Idol's Kara DioGuardi is Coming Back, Whether You Like it or Not!

Karadioguardi
Idol's fourth judge doesn't give a crap about what fans of the show think. She's still coming back!

Despite rumors floating around that she might not be returning to American Idol next season, Kara DioGuardi is returning for the upcoming ninth season of the show. I know there was a lot of controversy last season when Idol, in an obvious attempt to shake things up and prevent people from getting bored of the show, added in a fourth judge to the mix. There was pretty much a new rumor each day regarding fighting between the judges. You know, stuff like Paula Abdul was jealous of a new female judge stealing her limelight, Simon Cowell being mean to Kara, etc.

Now, I know many fans were quite hesitant to accept DioGuardi, and some still haven't. Regardless of how they think, she's back, and we'll just have to put up with even longer judge critiques. Hopefully they'll cut down a little on the judges comments this season so the show won't constantly go over time like it did last season. Sadly, I doubt this will happen.

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 2 Announces Online Casting Winner: Meet Jessica Wild!

Congratulations are in order for Ms. Jessica Wild! The fierce performer has been selected by voters to be a contestant on the upcoming season of RuPaul's Drag Race! That's her in the above clip announcing that she won... Hopefully she'll improve her camera skills before the show actually starts. She's an insanely intense performer, so I imagine she'll be bringing a lot of energy to the show next season.

Hopefully she'll also prove to the people who voted for her that she deserves to be on the show, but something tells me we don't have anything to worry about. Just like last season's fan pick, season one runner up Nina Flowers, Jessica Wild hails from Puerto Rico and girl knows how to perform!

JessicaWild
Jessica Wild: She's pretty... But can she lip-synch for her life?

Head on over to the RuPaul Casting website to see videos of JW performing at various shows. Girl is going to bring it!

TV Preview: Get a Peek at Bravo's New Fashion Competition Show "Launch My Line"

Here comes round two of Bravo's attempt to replace Project Runway. Launch My Line, a show where contestants get paired with established designers to produce their own fashion line, thankfully looks better than the hot mess that was the The Fashion Show. Maybe it was hatred for Isaac Mizrahi, maybe it was because I didn't understand why an ex-member of Destiny's Child was a judge, but I just could not bring myself to get anywhere close to getting into that show.

Back to Launch My Line. The contestants are comprised of people who are established in careers outside of fashion design (a DJ, fashion critics, an architect, and big gay dandy Patrick McDonald!) but still have an interest in 15 minutes of fashion design fame...I mean they want to create their own lines. You may recognize some of them, including Merle Ginsberg, judge on RuPaul's Drag Race, who I guess just couldn't get enough of the reality TV limelight. This show looks like a much better attempt to replace PR, and the DSquared twins look to be much better hosts than Mizrahi. I'll still be tuning in with a critical eye. The show premieres September 16th.

All Gay Vogue Evolution Brings Fierceness to America's Best Dance Crew

Vogueevolution
Now these boys and girls are FIERCE. I can't wait to see the routines they pull off next season. Photo courtesy of The Ride.

MTV's popular dance show, America's Best Dance Crew, has announced the crews for the upcoming season and there's one team in particular I am already in love with. Vogue Evolution, the show's first openly gay and transgender team, is going to be one of the crews on the upcoming fourth season and let me tell you, they are fierce!

I just watched them vogue and be all around fierce in a couple of videos and let me tell you, they know how to bring it. I will definitely be calling in to vote for them. Head on over here to watch a clip of the group auditioning for the show!

T.R. Knight Tells All in the Next Issue of Entertainment Weekly

Trknight
I've always had a crush on T.R. He is such a cutie!

Ex-Grey's Anatomy star and openly gay actor T.R. Knight talks all about his departure from the hit ABC show in next week's issue of Entertainment Weekly. He even talks about the "Isaiahgate” incident (you know...when then co-star Isaiah Washington called T.R. a f*ggot while arguing with Patrick Dempsey) and how exec producer Shonda Rhimes didn't want him to come out.

Hearing all this, I can't say I blame T.R. for leaving. Rhimes all but cut him out of the show this past season, and the whole Izzie/George/Callie love triangle was just incredibly stupid. Still, I'm sad I'll no longer be watching the incredibly adorable Knight every week. The issue hits stands this Friday. Check out a preview of the article here.

"Top Chef" Host Padma Lakshmi Cooks Up a Sitcom!

Padma
She's got stunning, sultry, and sexy down, but can she add leading lady to her skill set?

Top Chef host and all around exotic beauty Padma Lakshmi is supposedly getting her own NBC sitcom our friends at AfterEllen report. Who knew she could do things besides introduce guest judges and taste test food? Apparently she's acted in several movies in the past, like the Mariah Carey horros-fest Glitter. Who knows, maybe she's some untapped comedic genius waiting to be unleashed. Yeah... We'll just have to see.

And just for fun, check out her Hardee's commercial below. Delicious!

Project Runway Reveals Official Preview Video!

More Project Runway news! Lifetime has released an official trailer for the new season, and even though traffic cone orange Lindsay Lohan is going to be a guest judge, I'm even more excited than when the last bit of PR news came out. It's great to see that the judges are back with more scathing critiques, Heidi's accent is still as cute as ever, Timm Gunn is still fabulous, and the contestants are as harried and bitchy as ever!

Just one request: More Nina Garcia!!! I need more of that Colombian goddess's bitchiness in my life. You can also check out a preview for "Models of the Runway," the companion show airing alongside PR that is all about the models and their drama. Both shows air August 20th.

Michael Ian Black Has Issues...Lots of Them

Michaelianblack
I look at Michael Ian Black, and I don't see a man with issues. I just see a man who is...ummm...ok, yeah, he's got issues.

By Cory Stottlemyer

The always hilarious Michael Ian Black, star of the new Comedy Central show Michael and Michael Have Issues, recently answered some of our questions about his new show, playing gay, and how long he'll be showing up to make commentary on VH1's "I Love [Insert random decade here]" series.

First things first, tell me about you new show. How did it come about?
Well the new show is called Michael and Michael Have Issues. It’s about my real, long time relationship with Michael Showalter. And you know it’s just about two idiots. Two hyper competitive idiots.

What personal "issues" do you deal with on a day-to-day basis?
My personal issues? Self loathing. Paranoia. Debilitating insecurity. Emotional paralysis. Fear of bugs. Gluttony. Sexual deviance. Hay fever.

See clips of the new show and read about Michael kissing Bradley Cooper after the jump!

If only she'd win... You know a Sarah Silverman acceptance speech would be brutal.

Emmy nominations were announced this morning (it's the 61st year - oy!). 30 Rock and Mad Men got truckloads, no shocker. But some nice surprises... One is that they're allowing more noms in some categories, so now there can be, like, 6 or 7 nominees for stuff like Best Comedy Series and Best Actor in a Comedy Series.

That means, some fresher talent can join the folks who tend to hog all the noms. Like... Sarah Silverman who takes her place among usual suspects Tina Fey and Julia Louis-Dreyfus for Best Actress in a Comedy Series. It's for The Sarah Silverman Program, of course. In which she plays herself (ha!). And which will be on Logo next year. Nice, eh?

450x200_CherryNeilKathy
Cherry, Neil Patrick Harris and Kathy Griffin get some gay Emmy-nomination love. Suck it!

Gays nominated for prizes include Neil Patrick Harris for Best Supporting Actor on a Comedy Series, How I Met Your Mother (NPH will also be hosting the Emmys); Cherry Jones for Best Supporting Actress for playing the President on 24; Sir Ian McKellen for his King Lear special or movie or mini-series thingy; and of course, non-gay Kathy Griffin (whose tireless inclusion and championing of gays in her show My Life on the D-List is unparalleled) is up for Best Reality series, and one or two others.

Sadly, no Emmy love for RuPaul. Surely, Ru can rank along Heidi and Padma as "Best Reality Show Host," right? Or Drag Race should at least have gotten a nod for Best Lighting! It takes a lotta work to blow Ru's sh*t out with those battleship-worthy searchlights, okaaay?

Who I gotta blow to get an Emmy nom up in heerrrre?

AfterElton's got a little gay overview on the Emmy noms. Or check out the Emmy site for the full, completely exhausting list of way too many categories.

The show airs September 20th on CBS.

Janet Jackson Pays Tribute to Brother Michael at the BET Awards

Janet Jackson made a surprise appearance at last night's BET Awards to pay tribute to her brother Michael after his untimely death last week. A very emotional Janet took to the stage to speak on behalf of her family and thank everyone for their support and let them know that his memory will always live on in the hearts of his fans.

Many of the performers and presenters at last night's show paid tribute to the late artist, with host Jamie Foxx performing the dance moves from Jackon's Beat It video and singer Ciara performing Heal the World.

Spencer and Heidi Banned from E! Channel Coverage

Spencerandheidimasks
This is how I like my Speidi best: covered up and almost unrecognizable. Hopefully they continue to mask their faces.

It's time for a celebration! Celebrity news channel and follower of all things Hollywood E! has decided to no longer cover anything related to Hills' stars Heidi and Spencer Pratt. The decision came after a whopping 94 percent of the channel's viewers voted last week saying they do not want to see any more news about the fame-whoring couple.

I'm surprised to find out that actually 6 percent of people voted to keep the couple around. Do people actually like reading about how obnoxious and creepy Spencer is or how delusional Heidi can be? To each their own. I just know that this is a very happy moment for me. Hopefully this means their extended 15 minutes of fame are finally coming to an end!.

Jessica Simpson Heads Back to Reality Television

Jessicasimpson
The pop-star, attempted country singer, and ex-reality star sure knows how to put her all into a performance. Hopefully she'll be just as expressive on her new show.

Everyone's favorite blonde Jessica Simpson is once again making her way back to reality television in a new VH1 show called "The Price of Beauty.” The show will involve Simpson traveling the world, learning about the standards of beauty in other cultures as well as practicing different beauty regimes and learning about their fashion trends. I'm guessing her failed attempt to become a country star has led her to resort back to doing reality TV.

Jessica said about the show: "I have always believed that beauty comes from within and confidence will always make a woman beautiful, but I know how much pressure some women put on themselves to look perfect."

Oh boy. I'm hoping Jessica will keep her ditzy demeanor in check and won't offend anyone. She has a track record of perpetuating the dumb blonde stereotype, most notably on her previous reality show "Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica" that she did with her hunk of an ex-husband Nick Lachey. Though it's not set to air until 2010, I can't wait to see what kind of messes she may get herself into.

America's Got Talent's Gay Hasselhoff Love Song

America's Got Talent kicked off its summertime talent show deliriousness last night, and this was one of the more charming gay moments. A nice loan officer from Seattle, David Johnson, strummed about his high school crush... on David Hasselhoff!

Cute! Weird! But it's nice to hear the audience get into it eventually, cheering. Awwwww...

Bravo Exec Andy Cohen Steps Further Into the Limelight

Andycohen
Bravo's Cohen always knows how to get the best out of the Housewives during the reunion shows. Hopefully his new show will be just as entertaining!

Andy Cohen, Senior Vice President of Production and Programming at Bravo and unofficial face of the network, is set to take the skills he learned from hosting Real Housewives reunions to his own show on the the network. Premiering July 16, the new show will be titled "Watch What Happens," taken after the network's slogan.

Unless you're a night owl, you probably won't be watching what happens, as the show is supposed to air at midnight. As for what the show entails, Cohen said it will be him, either a Bravo personality or a real celebrity, some cocktails, and questions from the viewing audience. Sounds like a more tipsy and reality TV driven version of Inside the Actors Studio. Hopefully he'll have Kathy Griffin and the Real Housewives on at the same time so the comedian can rip them to pieces! Now that would be worth checking out.

Janice Dickinson Goes Nuts for the Gays

Oh, Janice Dickinson. You gotta love her. Especially when the I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here contestant expresses her undying love for the gays by screaming over and over, "Say no to Prop 8!" and calling out to blogger Perez Hilton, which you can see in the above video.

Who cares if her mind may have been whittled down to nothing more than a handful of sporadically functioning brain cells due to years of imbibing God knows what... Who cares if she's had so much plastic surgery she looks like she used a plunger to enlarge her lips and probably has more botox running through her veins than blood? At least the brilliant Ms. D knows who her main supporters are (and viewers of her very homoerotic Oxygen show), and is willing to look like a complete mental case in her defense of the gays. Janice Dickinson, I adore you. Don't ever change.

"Jeffery & Cole Casserole" Cooks Up Quirky & Randomly Brilliant Comedy

Gay music and video from NewNowNext.com

Known to many as the Very Good Looking (VGL) Gay Boys, internet stars Jeffery Self and Cole Escola are making the jump to television with their steaming new Logo series (and even given its title, Paula Deen is not involved). Premiering Friday, June 22, at 11:00pm ET/PT on Logo, Jeffery & Cole Casserole will suck you into the very, very unique and often times outright bizarre world of these young NYC-based comedians.

Er, yes, some of their skits are slightly puzzling. But trust, it's nearly impossible to not laugh at these two guys. They definitely go all out, the editing is jerky and brilliant, and there's no way you can deny that they're creative. Their skits are all over the place... Watch the sneak peek above and you'll understand...

Jeffandcole
The cute stars of "Jeffrey & Cole Casserole."

The show will also be available on Logoonline, and you can even start watching now. Expect pop culture to get skewered, lots of weird impersonations, and slightly unnerving “jazz” performances. Check out a sneak peak (above) of the first episode premiering this Friday, June 12, at 11:00pm ET/PT, as part of Logo’s NewNowNext Awards Weekend.

NewNowNext Awards: Who Won?

Ru_red_2_375x500
Heyyyyyy, did the best woman win???? She better had.

The big news from last night's NewNowNext Awards taping in NYC? No, it wasn't RuPaul's costume changes (which were HOT). It wasn't Lisa Lampinelli's filthy jokes (which hopefully will make the cut on-air). Okay, it could have been the riveting live perfs from bands like Morningwood, The Fire and Reason, Storm Lee and the Paradiso Girls featuring Eve (although they were all pretty legendary as you'll see...), but that's not what I'm talking about.

It was THE WINNERS!!!!

And since gays suck at keeping secrets, after the jump you can read the full list of who won what! Of course, you still have to tune in on Saturday, June 13th to watch it all unfurl, but for now... We'll share.

[Psssst! There's another hot pic of Ru after the jump, too!]

Is Lost's Juliet Really Dead? Living for V?

ElizabethMitchell
Wherefore art thou, Juliet?

At the end of last week's Lost finale (SPOILER ALERT!) Juliet said goodbye to Sawyer, fell down the big pocket hole full of metal stuff and managed to bang some life into that slippery H-bomb, thus possibly blowing up the island and her chances at coming back for the last season.

And now Entertainment Weekly reports news that might confirm her status as really dead (if anyone's ever really dead on Lost), as Elizabeth Mitchell is officially on-board to star in the new ABC relaunch of the campy 80s sci-fi alien-lizard series V. Fun!

I finally warmed up to Mitchell's Juliet, after spending about two or so seasons HATING her. But I still had a bit of trouble really buying her undying love for Sawyer... Maybe I'll enjoy her more as a lizard queen?

Now if only someone could find another series for Desmond! I want more Des!

Lindsay Lohan Talks to Ellen about Samantha and the Break-Up

You may have seen this by now, but WOW, this is good TV! Lindsay Lohan guested on Ellen yesterday and she and Ms. D talk openly about Lindsay and Sam's big break-up! It's frank. And relaxed and funny. And nicely salient... "I really care about Samantha and we'll see what happens," Lindsay says.

It's a refreshingly candid gay conversation, that's not about "gay" stuff at all; it's just about a relationship and its unraveling and all the attention that gets in Hollywood. Yes, it's a little weird for the usually uber-private Ellen to probe about Lindsay's personal life, but Lindsay presents herself pretty well.

It's also a cool conversation about being young, in the tabloids, in showbiz, and how one becomes a target and how misbehavior gets translated into gossip. Meanwhile, Ellen comes across like a nice showbiz mother hen, concerned about the young starlet.

By the way, who knew Lindsay and Natalie Portman were big buds? I wanna have dinner with them! Ellen can come, too.

Project Runway Season 7: They're Casting!!!

350x400_ProjectRunway

Lifetime hasn't even annoounced when they're gonna officially air the already-shot, mega-delayed and much-litigated L.A.-based Season 6 of Project Runway, but the casting calls are now going out for designers to compete in Season 7! On MyLifetime.com there's a little video clip of Heidi encouraging you to audition, which then links to the Bunim-Murray productions site.

So Bunim-Murray is helming the show, now? They're the geniuses behind such lofty fare as Bad Girls, Road Rules, The Real World and Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Will they deliver the more high-brow stylishness we expect from ProjRun? Or can we expect all our designers to just sit around drunk, yanking on each others' weaves? (Which I may not mind at all, come to think of it.) At least Nina wouldn't be bored.

And what of Project Runway Season 6? The Bryant Park finale shows happened back in February, after all???! Lifetime has only said it will air this summer. And Tim Gunn told folks last week in Chicago that Lifetime is waiting for Bravo to air their upcoming ProjRun knock-off, The Fashion Show, before we get to see any more Heidi/Michael/Nina pile-on action. Oy!!!

Maybe this means I actually have time to enroll in F.I.T. myself, get a fashion degree and audition for Season 7? At the rate they're going with airing this stuff, I've got time!!!

'Gossip Girl' spin-off poster revealed

Valley_girls_poster

The Gossip Girl spin-off, which follows a young Lily (Serena's mom) through her teen years in L.A., has been in the works for a while now. We knew it was going to take place in the '80s, but who knew it would look so ... cliche?

The fact that it's called Valley Girl certainly doesn't help, either. (Originally, it was known as Lily). The show, which stars Brittany Snow, is set to premier on the CW May 11.

Kelly Rutherford, who plays adult Lily on Gossip Girl, will kick off the pilot of Valley Girls by considering Rufus' marriage proposal. Cue flashbacks to their early romance, which is intended to be enough to carry a whole series. Doable? We'll see.

Stephen Colbert's Anti Gay Marriage Ad Is the Most Amazing Thing Ever!!!

Comedy may be the most powerful weapon we have against ignorance. This clip from last night's Colbert Report is proof.

And be sure to watch 'til the end. It's utter GENIUS! Yay!

Bravo's A-List Awards: More than a Kathy Griffin special

85827555

Since Bravo's A-List Awards taped a couple weeks ago, we've heard all about host Kathy Griffin's "make out session" with former Danity Kane singer Aubrey O'Day. But last night, we finally got to see what all the fus was about. Pretty sloppy. Although, Kathy, who hosted what she calls " "the anti awards-show awards show" for the second year in a row, was fantastically hilarious as always.

Plus, there was Lady Bunny, the dancing drag queen. Basically, Kathy + Lady Bunny is all that was needed. But then some awards happened as well (what, awards during a Kathy Griffin special? How distracting.) Although, Neil Patrick Harris did win for A-List actor for his womanizer, womanizer role on How I Met Your Mother.

Jackie Warner gets a new gym gig on Bravo

194494725_243d89cde7

I've had some serious Work Out (read: Jackie Warner) withdrawal lately. And just when I've given up on Bravo ever renewing the reality show for a fourth season, they've made my day, albeit a bit differently than I was expecting. They just announced a whole new show for Jackie: Jackie's Gym Takeover.

In the same vein as Tabatha's Salon Takeover, the new show will feature the out celebrity trainer visiting struggling gyms and getting them into shape, business-wise. Hopefully there will still be plenty of drama and shots of Jackie's abs.

Or, you know, that fourth season of Work Out could always happen. There's never enough Jackie Warner. She's so ... motivating.
