TV on Tap: "Enlisted" Fans Turn to Yahoo, "Sherlock" Confirmed for a Fourth Season and Carol Kane Heads to "Gotham"

News

Now that Yahoo has saved Community from cancellation, fans of Enlisted are hoping the site is willing to save their show, too. It makes sense to me, especially since Enlistedis a younger comedy with a better chance of finding new viewers through word of mouth.

Sherlock has been renewed for a fourth season that will include a special followed by three more episodes. Sadly, filming doesn't begin until next year.

Carol Kane has taken a role on Fox's upcoming Batman prequel series Gotham according to TVLine. She'll play the mother of an iconic Batman character.

Okay. I don't know how to feel about this. Walton Goggins will appear in the final season of Sons of Anarchy as transgender character Venus Van Dam. I hear Venus started out as an offensive joke but became a praise-worth character in the latest season. Unfortunately, SoA has been on my to-watch list for six seasons, so I'm going off of hearsay. Any Sons of Anarchy viewers who have an opinion on Venus?

This must be the week for casting announcements for former Battlestar Galatica hotties. This time it's James Callis who has been picked for a recurring role on the upcoming Matador.

The faboo Sara Rue has joined the TV Land pilot Impastor. The proposed series stars Michael Rosenbaum as a con man who hides out in a small town by pretending to be its gay pastor. Rue will play his assistant. That gets me more excited about Impastor, even if I'm still feeling cautious about the premise.

Salon argues against making a man one of The View's hosts. "The View”is one of the few places on television in which women talk to one another without that talk being mediated by men — and it’s unique in that the conversation is not about gender. The fact that all the show’s panelists have traditionally been women is a fact that’s dealt with and quickly dismissed."

Karl Yune has been cast as Ollie's mentor in Hong Kong in the upcoming season of Arrow. His character is also the husband of Devon Aoki's Katana.

Louie's Pamela Adlon expresses her frustration to Vulture about the way TV shows get analyzed so intensely as they air. "It’s funny reading the stuff on the internet — Louis and I have been talking about this recap culture and how people just, you know, start a big conversation while a season of television is running... I love the conversation — I think it’s wonderful — I just think people are premature-ejaculating their opinions."

FXX has ordered a comedy starring Jay Baruchel, Man Seeking Woman, focusing on a "naive romantic on a desperate quest for love."

As Stahma gets more comfortable with running the family criminal empire, she starts taking more direct action to keep Datak out of the picture. Sounds like the setup for some #gayliens developments.

Tales from the Darkside Marathon (Chiller) starting at 8:00 AM ET

Chiller gets in the holiday spirit early with a 7 hour marathon of the 80s horror anthology series. Good thing they're starting early with the holiday marathons, so that I don't have to choose between Tales from the Darkside and The Twilight Zone.

The first season wraps with a triple feature that sees the guys chip in to pay off Justin's loan on the bar, Shelly and Brent secretly start going out solo, and deal with a dating app.

It it's Thursday, it must be time for the first eviction vote. (And maybe, CBS, you could show some Zankie?)

Dominion (Syfy) 9:00 PM ET

Alex hopes he can leave behind all his problems by leaving Vega behind. I guess he hasn't figured out the meaning of all those anvils from the last two episodes. In case you haven't guessed (don't worry, Alex hasn't) that doesn't go well.

 Luke Alen-Gale in "Dominion"

Last Comic Standing (NBC) 10:00 PM ET

Ellen DeGeneres shows up and the remaining competitors show how they can handle themselves on a talk show.
