Chandler Massey's Last "Days" and the Return of "Community"

News

Starting next week, it won't be as easy to watch ABC shows on line. As first reported by GigaOm, ABC will require viewers to log-in through a cable provider or through Hulu Plus in order to get access to episodes the day after they air. Otherwise, viewers will have to wait a week.

In the past few weeks, American Horror Story has managed to inspire an internet meme with the moment where Madison appears before Fiona, announcing "Surprise, bitch."

That's led to giving Madison's line to other characters like Gandalf

And I thought Kathy Bates hissing "Lies!" would be the Coven moment that endures.

A bill that would change how lineages can be inherited in Britain is being called "The Downton Law", after Downton Abbey since it would let titles be inherited by the eldest child, regardless of gender, and would have quickly solved Lady Mary's problems.

Eleven seems like a rather short list of criminally underutilized actors. Especially when you consider how much Steven Yeun we've gotten on The Walking Dead of late.

An intriguing essay at io9 looks at how Doctor Who has changed over the years, comparing the classic Who to the differences between Russell T. Davies' and Steven Moffat's run. In the classic days, a companion's departure wasn't a very big deal. Today it's an event with tears and melodrama.Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthru Darvill in "Doctor Who"

With low-buzz shows like Hello Ladies and Getting On, has HBO faded to the point of saying "Yeah, it’s HBO, but it’s still basically TV."

How do shows like The Big Bang Theory do when it comes to accurately matching their homes to the characters' jobs?

"Hillbilly Drag Show" just might be a very apt description for Duck Dynasty.

I never realized Game of Thrones family crests needed more sparkle and rainbows until I saw it.

In ratings news, Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest continued to be the top New Year's show on the broadcast networks, but it dropped 8% in the ratings while its competition on NBC and Fox had improved by 11% and 5%, respectively.

Today is Emmy-winner Chandler Massey's last episode. I'm still behind on Days and I just might be taking it slow on purpose, as if putting off watching Massey's last episode actually delays his departure.

Community (NBC) 8:00 PM ET

NBC's beloved cult comedy comedy returns with some great guest stars booked including Jonathan Banks, Nathan Fillion, Chris Elliott, Switched at Birth's Katie LeClerc and David Cross, plus much more. Is that enough to get fans to stop grumbling about that last season? Maybe they should find excuses to get Joel McHale to lose his shirt again, just to make sure.

The Taste (ABC) 8:00 PM ET

While The Taste' first season didn't quite get the the drama-to-talent ratio right, it did add one much-needed element to the cooking competition — blind judging. Plus, Anthony Bourdain really should be a full-time judge on some cooking competition show.

The Big Bang Theory (CBS) 8:00 PM ET

While Leonard and Penny go through some relationship drama thanks to a bad audition, Sheldon decides he needs to be more funny. Humor doesn't require a finely-tuned sense of empathy, does it? He should do fine.

The Millionaire Matchmaker (Bravo) 9:00 PM ET

Sadly, the new year begins with Patti working to find a match for underwear designer Andrew Christian, who the episode title calls "The Gay Hugh Hefner". I guess making sexy car wash videos doesn't mix well with romance.

Sean Saves the World (NBC) 9:00 PM ET

While Sean Saves the World isn't the next 30 Rock or even the next Better Off Ted (which shares a creator with Sean), it has shown impeccable taste in guest-casting. The latest argument for Sean's choice of guest-players, Leslie Grossman. From the look of the promotional photos, it looks like Grossman's in a storyline with Thomas Lennon's Max, which increases the likelihood of her being well-used.

Project Runway All Stars (Lifetime) 9:00 PM ET

It's the beginning of a weekend with plenty of Kristin Chenoweth as she guest-judges a challenge where the designers have to create outfits for a charity sale.

The Crazy Ones (CBS) 9:00 PM ET

Productivity falls at Roberts, Robers & Lewis thanks to their latest client, a video game publisher. It would be irresponsible to advertise a product you haven't tried yourself and Sydney knows you haven't properly sampled a video game unless you've immersed yourself in the first 100 hours of gameplay. At least.

Sarah Michelle Gellar in "The Crazy Ones"vWhy if they put "L33T" in the name, it's got to be good!

The Assets (ABC) 10:00 PM ET

For the next eight weeks, ABC is giving Scandal's time slot to his mini-series about the real life hunt for a CIA mole in 1985 — as well as the effort to make sure the intelligence officers endangered by his leaks don't get killed. By now, we know the story ends with the arrest of Aldrich Ames, but with Scandal on a winter break and The Americans not debuting until the end of February, the hunt for Ames should fill the gap nicely.

Elementary (CBS) 10:00 PM ET

Moriarity is back as Sherlock and Joan find themselves teaming up for a kidnapping case.
