TV on Tap: David Letterman's Final Show Scheduled, "Sons of Anarchy" Ends on Top and a Theme Park with "Doctor Who," "Sherlock" Attractions

News

David Letterman's final Late Show will air on Wednesday, May 20. Meanwhile, The L.A. Times says that Stephen Colbert will debut as The Late Show host in August or September. I have no idea how I'll make it through nine months without Colbert.

The Flash may be one of the most promising new shows on TV and a big hit but it could have gone wrong in so many ways. And they're so right when they say that Grant Gustin is the best Peter Parker that's ever existed.

...and I hated his character so much on Glee.

A BBC themed theme park may open in England with attractions inspired by shows like Sherlock and Doctor Who. (Come on, no ride based on Graham Norton's red chair?)

Fox is hoping to lure Simon Cowell back to U.S. TV. Sigh.

Nick Jonas talked with Buzzfeed about his character on Kingdom and the big revelation from the season finale. "The biggest thing I’ve learned through this is that you can’t have any fear when you’re acting. ...You just have to become that person and live that life... I’m absolutely willing to go anywhere the story needs to go."

Vox tries to define hate-watching and mostly succeeds, but falls into the trap of sweeping guilty pleasures into the mix. I'm pretty sure most Sharknado viewers enjoyed the parade of ridiculousness and cameos of celebrity sharkbait for what it was.

The final episode of Sons of Anarchy may have been greeted by many critics discussing how frustrating the show was to watch, but it was the drama's most-watched episode.

The Big Bang Theory (CBS) 8:00 PM ET

While Amy thinks a Victorian-style Christmas party sounds like fun, Sheldon has to be forced to join the party — and afterward he's plotting his revenge. I think we're due for one of those episodes where Sheldon is forced to realize he needs his friends.

Luke and Liv are approached by Tyler for a risky plan. With Mystic Falls still off-limits, Jo missing and Enzo being... Enzo, there are a whole lot of reasons one might take up a risky plan.

Bones (Fox) 8:00 PM ET

The 200th Bones turns into an Alfred Hitchcock homage with Brennan an LAPD detective dealing with 1950s sexism and trying to clear Booth when he's wrongly accused of murdering a socialite.

Project Runway All Stars (Lifetime) 9:00 PM ET

The remaining designers take a literal gamble on their next challenge as a roll of the die will determine the guidelines for their next dress.

The McCarthys (CBS) 9:30 PM ET

Marjorie ends up in the hospital, which makes everyone realize how much work she does taking care of the family. If the rest of the McCarthys don't realize it, the instructions she leaves for Arthur on how to take care of himself should make that clear.

The Carbonaro Effect (TruTV) 10:00 PM ET

You don't ever want to end up unpacking a box to find a voodoo doll among the mix when Michael Carbonaro is nearby, as one woman is about to find out.

Newsreaders (Adult Swim) Midnight ET

Tonight, Newsreaders tells the story of two long-lost twin brothers (played by — surprise — Randy and Jason Sklar) who have finally been reunited. Too bad they hate each other.
