"Doctor Who" Christmas Reunion, "The People's Couch" Returns, Guillermo Diaz Threatens Gonzo: TV ON TAP

It's not how we'd like to see "Scandal" and "The Muppets" cross over.

Guess who's returning for the Doctor Who Christmas special? Sorry, it's not Captain Jack.

Patti LuPone will be a regular on the third season of Penny Dreadful, but she won't be reprising her role as the Cut-Wife. She'll play an American therapist who takes Vanessa on as a client.

Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner is suing Hasbro over a "Littlest Pet Shop" toy that is also named Harris Faulkner. Generally, I like to limit my exposure to the Fox News version of Harris Faulner to the times when Daily Show includes her in their clips of what's stupid on TV this week. Since The Daily Show is on break this feels pretty close.

I haven't heard anything about Bravo's endearing The People's Couch for so long, I worried it might have been quietly cancelled. Happily, that's not the case as the show has been renewed for a third season. And, yes, Blake McIver and his best friends Scott and Emerson will continue to be a part of the fun.

It seems a bit much to say that Netflix is tricking American audiences into reading subtitled TV with Narcos, when there are already a few shows who also have Spanish-speaking characters who are subtitled. (I think I remember critics liking a show on broadcast TV called Jane the Virgin.) Besides, Netflix also has Sense8, which has a whole lot of actors performing in English when their characters are speaking other languages.

Trans actress Candis Cayne says she walked out of an audition for Curb Your Enthusiasm because of a joke where the character, a transgender woman, uses the men's bathroom. Good on her for giving up work for principle, but it's pretty disappointing to hear that someone as respected in comedy as Larry David would do such a tired joke. Do any Curbed fans remember if such a scene made it to broadcast?

I think I'll pass on the Scandal/Muppets crossover now. Still, Fitz deserves a karate chop from Miss Piggy, so maybe I'll support some violence between these two shows.

Is Fear the Walking Dead's knife-smuggling student Tobias the sensational character find of 2015? So far, he's the most exciting character on the show, but it's not like the competition has been tough.

At long last, Billy and Julie may have found representation — and a job opportunity! If only they could stop procrastinating and actually work on their writing sample. I have a feeling guest appearances by Deborah Harry, Ana Gasteyer and Amy Sedaris aren't going to help them get their work done. I know how that goes. I just wasted an hour squeeing over a Deborah Harry TV appearance, followed by another hour falling down a Vevo hole of Deborah Harry and Blondie music videos (and maybe another half-hour of recommended cover versions of those songs).

Big Brother (CBS) 8:00 PM ET

Since there's no commentary about the most recent activity in the Big Brother house in any Blondie music videos (you'd think it might come up in a song with a lyric like "Good boys never win") I just know that the Power of Veto competition is tonight.

Young & Hungry (ABC Family) 8:00 PM ET

It's time for a wacky mixup when Elliot finally gives in and agrees to introduce Alan to his mother — who goes on to mistake Josh as Ellott's fiance. Oh, this sounds like the kind of sitcom confusion that leads to you saying something stupid that breaks up your relationship.

America's Next Top Model (CW) 8:00 PM ET

The models have to head into a photoshoot knowing their pictures won't be retouched.

Mr Robot (USA) 10:00 PM ET

Some jerk may have prompted the finale to be delayed to tonight, but tonight we get to see how the first chapter ends. From the looks of the trailer, there's a new fsociety video threatening to bring about the death of Evil Corp.

Impastor (TV Land) 10:30 PM ET

Dora confesses to Buddy that she's got a gambling addiction problem — she can burn through a paycheck at the local bingo parlor. Good thing Buddy has a record of having terrible instincts but unintentionally being very helpful.

The Exes (TV Land) 11:00 PM ET

Phil starts to worry about his masculinity when he realizes that dating a movie star means that his career will live in the shadow of his significant other. So, we're doing a beta male panic storyline so close to the finale, The Exes? You're a better show than that.
