Seth MacFarlane Takes Fox to a “Bordertown” and Lord Grantham Will Continue to Mismanage “Downton Abbey” for Another Season

And the next UK series to get remade for U.S. viewers is… Bad Education. ABC is adapting the Britcom bringing star Jack Whitehall along as the unconventional teacher who battles with school administrators focused on test scores. Unfortunately, I hear it will be revamped into a wacky sitcom about the school’s hockey team with a Friends alum playing the coach.

It’s one of TV’s most-watched programs and Downton Abbey has been renewed for a fifth season. PBS will air the season, probably after fans have had to work to avoid spoilers for months.

Downton Abbey

Oh dear. Someone is hoping to make a reality show about furries. If this goes well, I’ will be very surprised.

The failure of Ender’s Game in movie theatres makes it unlikely that Orson Scott Card’s other novels will make it to be big screen. However, Lionsgate says it is still considering a TV spin-off. Look, I liked the later stories of Ender and Valentine but I know I’m part of a tiny minority, there. If people didn’t show up in theatres for Ender’s Game, I don’t see them tuning in for a Speaker for the Dead or Ender’s Shadow series. That’s like expecting people to tune in to your reboot of Glee that will just be about Will and Terri’s troubled marriage.

Here’s the first teaser for HBO’s upcoming drama Looking. It’s short and somehow still has me excited to watch it.

A panel on The Colbert Report at the New York Comedy Festival included the amazing revelation that dogs know when Stephen is in character. According to Executive Producer Tom Purcell, staffers can bring their dogs to work. Usually, they like Colbert but when “Stephen’s in character walking down that hallway, the dogs go crazy — they hate him.”

Syfy’s upcoming reality competition Jim Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge has picked its host, TVLine reports. Aptly, it’s Farscape alum Gigi Edgley.

Oh. Yikes. Fox has ordered another animated series from Seth MacFarlane, according to TV Guide. Bordertown will follow a Border patrol agent’s family and the people who live next door, a family of immigrants from Mexico. That sounds like a great topic for the guy whose last show couldn’t tell the Asian stereotypes apart.

Fox's BordertownAt least the art doesn’t look like Family Guy?

What should be the subject of the next Greatest Event in Television History? Vulture has ten suggestions. I’m voting for Joanie Loves Chachi if only for the terrible song. (Warning, you might find yourself sucked into a YouTube trap… which is why I now think the next GEITH should be Angie. Or Automan.)

The Ellen DeGeneres Show syndicated0 Check local listings
I thought I saw Adam Lambert show up as Ellen’s DJ last week but today’s listings says he’ll be on today’s show. If you tune in and he’s not there, at least you still get to see Ellen chat with Rebel Wilson.

How I Met Your Mother (CBS) 8:00 PM ET
Bryan Cranston returns as the gang tries to imagine how the love triangle between Ted, Robin and Barney ends up. Since it looks unlikely that any of those imagined scenarios will include Hannibal Lecter explaining to Ted why sabotaging your friends’ wedding for your own selfish wishes is rude, I don’t think it’s time for me to end my hiatus from watching HIMYM.

Bryan Cranston in "How I Met Your Mother"Or maybe Bryan Cranston’s character will Heisenberg out when Ted corrects him on something.

RuPaul’s Drag Race: The Lost Season RuVealed (Logo) 9:00 PM ET
And now it’s time to look back at the season so far and remember the great moments, the first impressions and the memorable performances. There’s also a look at the performers who auditioned and didn’t make the cut — which should now feature a few now-familiar faces.

Sleepy Hollow (Fox) 9:00 PM ET
Guess who’s back? Hint: he just may be the hottest guy to lose his head over  the craziness of Sleepy Hollow.

Nicholas Gonzales and Nicole Beharie in "Sleepy Hollow"Speaking of the hot guys of Sleepy Hollow,
he’s a picture of Nicholas Gonzalez and tragic proof his character still hasn’t developed an allergy to shirts.

Mom (CBS) 9:30 PM ET
Christy doubles down on the romantic challenges. On one hand, there’s the pressure of her first weekend trip with Adam. On the other, there’s Gabriel’s wife, CLAU-dia who turns to Christy for support as she suspects her husband may be having an affair.

What!? Animism: People Who Love Objects (Logo) 10:00 PM ET
Logo’s interrobang takes a look at people who have sexual and romantic feelings for inanimate objects. Unfortunately, you probably won’t be able to watch your mechanic go under your car the same way again. Unless you’re into that sort of thing.

Castle (ABC) 10:00 PM ET
It feels like it’s been a while since I last spotted Ugly Betty alum David Blue on a guest-cast but he’s on tonight’s Castle, which deals with the murder of a famous relationship therapist.

Chelsea Lately (E!) 11:00 PM ET
Ross Mathews is on tonight’s panel. Expect Ross to campaign for that People’s Choice Award.

What will you be watching tonight? Please share in the comments!

Ricky Martin and Idina Menzel on the same show? What a treat.

Lyle Masaki is a fan of obscure superheroes, video games, adorkable guys and that show you loved that got cancelled way too soon.
