Cobie Smulders Rejoins "S.H.I.E.L.D.", a "Mork & Mindy" Reunion and a 12 Day "Simpsons" Marathon

News

In the latest edition of "How many shows can Donal Logue appear in?" the busy actor will have a recurring role on Law & Order: SVU as the new Unit boss. He'll be recurring for the rest of the season.

Chris Colfer will appear on an episode of Hot in Cleveland, according to TVLine. He'll play the son of Wendy Malick's soap star Joy.

TV Land is reviving Candid Camera for a 10-episode summer run. Peter Funt, son of original Candid Camera host Allen Funt will host the new version which promises to be "daring but respectful". I hope that means it'll aim higher than the last reality TV-style revival of Candid Camera.  Also, please bring back the theme song from the 70's version of the series.

With How I Met Your Mother off her schedule, Marvel announced that Cobie Smulders will return to Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D as Maria Hill. The last time Maria appeared, Coulson wasn't aware that he spent time in T.A.H.I.T.I., not Tahiti. They should have an interesting conversation together.

Paramount's TV studio hopes there's a network who will be interested in a TV series based on The Truman Show. In today's TV landscape, with its serialized shows and reality series, a Truman series could work really well.

FX Networks boss John Landgraf says that The Americans should get a renewal soon. Unfortunately, he wasn't ready to commit to an additional season of Chozen.

FXX plans on debuting The Simpsons on its schedule with a marathon of all 522 episodes which should take 12 days ending on Labor Day. FX says that will be the "longest continuous marathon in the history of television". Go and make your list of all the episodes you'd like to see again, this is a good chance to catch one that hasn't appeared in repeats in a while. I can't wait for the chance to sing along to "Oh Streetcar!" again.

Maggie Simpson The Ayn Rand Day Care Center seems even more topical today.

The season finale of Justified was watched by 2.4 million viewers, a modest increase from last season's finale.

The dark side of Hollywood is showing in a lawsuit over the Cinemax series Femme Fatales. An actress previously filed a complaint against the channel and the production company for harassment, claiming that after she got the role, there were many last-minute rewrites including the addition of a nude scene that she claims wasn't in the original script that she was pressured to participate in. Now the production company is suing her for breach of contract, claiming she knew the role required nudity when she signed up. I hope whichever party is telling the truth has the documentation to back up their claims.

Community (NBC) 8:00 PM ET

Subway may have saved Chuck, but now the sandwich chain is threatening Greendale, wanting to buy the Greendale campus to turn it into Subway University. Jeff's first reaction is to try to adapt to the changing circumstances, but Dean Pelton's story of the college's first Dean just might make that unnecessary.

The Big Bang Theory (CBS) 8:00 PM ET

You can mark today down on your calendar, because today is the day Sheldon decides to give up working on string theory. This is probably the beginning of a major personal crisis.

Jim Parsons in "The Big Bang Theory"So. Disheveled Sheldon. Yum.

Parks & Recreation (NBC) 8:30 PM ET

Tom needs to hire a sommelier, so he and Ben are off to a wine tasting contest where some of their former Eagleton counterparts are also attending. And, yes, that does mean Billy Eichner's back.

Suits (USA) 9:00 PM ET

A Suits season finale means it's time for Mike to be put at risk for exposure again. However, this time the previews show Mike getting arrested for fraud. Are Suits fans about to spend a summer writing fanfic about Mike with various cellmates?

Patrick J Adams in "Suits""That's it. I'm moving to Paris and hooking up with Satanists."

Project Runway Under the Gunn (Lifetime) 9:00 PM ET

Heidi Klum and Neil Patrick Harris are here to guest-judge the final challenge. Let's hope no one embarrasses themselves by trying to use some Barney Stinson catchphrases (like "Suit up!")

The Crazy Ones (CBS) 9:30 PM ET

Pam Dawber appears as Simon's new girlfriend. What's bigger, a long awaited Mork & Mindy reunion... or TBL-fave Jonathan Del Arco appearing as Gordon's husband?

Portlandia (IFC) 10:00 PM ET

We haven't seen much of Toni and Candace this season, perhaps that's because they've been preparing for a trip to meet the Portland Trail Blazers' dance team.

Sirens (USA) 10:00 PM ET

Hank gets an invite to attend his ex's wedding, prompting Johnny to offer to be Hank's wingman at the wedding reception.  We'll have an exclusive clip from the episode later today.

Chris Boykin, Jordan Brown and Kevin Daniels in "SIrens"

Scandal (ABC) 10:00 PM ET

It's the penultimate episode and there's a security emergency. Or something. I'll be honest, I'm 15 minutes behind on this show. I tried watching last week's episode, but whenever I get to the part where Mellie slaps Fitz I find myself on an endless loop of hitting the "go back 10 seconds" button on Hulu's video player. As far as I know, Scandal is in the midst of a cliffhanger where it looks like Mellie and Fitz may be stuck in a time loop where she spends eternity slapping the President. I think I'd be fine if the series ended that way.

Khandi Alexander in "Scandal"I'm taking back my wish to see Khandi Alexander return to working in comedy again.

She's perfect as a badass soap opera mastermind. More please.

The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon (NBC) 11:35 PM ET

Alan Cumming will be performing tonight with the cast of Cabaret.
