The CW Gets “Star-Crossed,” a Judge Returns to “ANTM” and First Look at “Gracepoint”

Jane Krakowski has found her next TV series, and it’s another one of those sitcoms about a fallen career woman. Krakowski has joined the pilot Dead Boss, a remake of a BBC series (the original featured Jennifer Saunders as a prison warden). The series follows an overachieving career woman who is wrongly accused of her boss’s murder. At first she’s certain the courts will uncover the truth of her innocence, but then she finds herself in prison.

EW has the first picture of David Tennant and Anna Gunn in the Fox’s upcoming Broadchurch adaptation, Gracepoint.

EW asked producer Michael Patrick King if cult hit The Comeback could ever come back for a second season, “Lisa [Kudrow] and I actually have had a couple of lunches lately where we’ve been missing Valerie and wondering where she’d be. That’s just a creative exploration Lisa and I are doing.” That’s too bad, a Comeback comeback would make a lot of fans happy.

Octavia Spencer has joined a new pilot after NBC passed on creating a Murder She Wrote reboot around Spencer. The Oscar winner is set to star in Red Band Society, a hospital dramedy with Spencer playing a nurse in the pediatrics ward.

After a mere ten episodes, ABC has cancelled Ravenswood. It’s the latest show to fail to succeed with a lead-in from Pretty Little Liars. Even being a PLL spin-off featuring one of the show’s more popular supporting characters couldn’t help it survive a full season.

Parks & Recreation is getting its second Human Giant reunion, according to EW. Rob Huebel is set to appear next month. Happily, Huebel’s storyline does have him interacting with (fellow Human Giant cast member) Aziz Ansari. (And if you’re not familiar with Human Giant, treat yourself to a few sketches, though I don’t see the classic “Gay Porn Ghost“.

What are the ten most common themes of Lifetime movie titles? It turns out there’s a good chance you’ll see the words “Stranger,” “Lies” or “Perfect” when browsing the Lifetime schedule (and if the time is right, “Christmas”). Quick, somebody come up with a script for “The Stranger Who Told Perfect Lies at Christmas”.

David James Elliott has filmed a pilot for Fox called Here’s Your Damn Family. He’ll play the husband of Jane Kaczmarek’s character. I’d be excited about Kaczmarek returning to Fox but that was supposed to happen this year with the Gavin & Stacey remake, Us & Them.

Did you hear a cry of joy coming from the America’s Next Top Model fan in your life? That probably had something to do with the news that Miss J Alexander is returning to the ANTM judges’ panel.

Alyson Hannigan has found her first post-How I Met Your Mother role, joining the CBS comedy pilot More Time with the Family, which follows a man (Tom Papa) who quits his job to have more family time, only to realize his family appreciated having him away so much.

Jasson Isaacs will star in the USA “event series” Dig. The story, from Heroes creator Tim Kring, follows a murder investigation in Jerusalem that ends up uncovering a conspiracy.

Jason Isaacs in "Awake"Jason Isaacs. Still not enough to overcome the pause inspired by the phrase, “From the creator of Heroes...”

Bethenny Frankel’s talk show, Bethenny won’t return for a second season.

The TNT pilot Guilt by Association — that’s the one co-written by former prosecutor Marcia Clark — has added two cast members with Neve Campbell as District Attorney and Angel alum Elisabeth Rohm playing a tough LAPD detective who works with her.

Cloud 9 (Disney XD) 7:30 PM ET
I missed it a month ago when Disney’s latest movie — about competitive snowboarders — included a role played by Mike Manning. However, it’s getting repeat on Disney XD, so here’s another chance to catch Mike playing what sounds like a real jerk of an antagonist. That’s pretty much the opposite of the guy we saw on The Real World. Acting!

Almost Human (Fox) 8:00 PM ET
Did you ever watch Eureka and wish for a home like S.A.R.A.H.? Tonight’s Almost Human is a reminder of how that could go very wrong as a “smart home” turns on its occupants. Considering S.A.R.A.H.’s meddling ways, I’d probably learn to be shy about doing anything within those watchful, analytic walls.

Star-Crossed (CW) 8:00 PM ET
Is it a bad sign that The CW’s new sci-fi series is debuting against the Olympics? How about the five-minute preview that ended before it could show the series’ stars? I hope not since the concept, a cross between Romeo & Juliet and District 9 is a solid one. Also, having former 90210 hunk Matt Lanter back on TV is very welcome. Still, this doesn’t exactly feel like a confident launch.

Switched at Birth (ABC Family) 8:00 PM ET

Being Human (Syfy) 9:00 PM ET

Matt Lanter in "Star Crossed"I hope Aiden’s about to warn Josh about not letting yourself go immediately after marriage.

The Fosters (ABC Family) 9:00 PM ET
With Mike’s career on the line, Stef considers coming forward with what she knows about the shooting, a move that might cost her career. How will we recognize the Fosters’ kitchen if Stef isn’t there wearing her police uniform?

Teen Wolf (MTV) 10:00 PM ET
First, Teen Wolf threatens Stiles. Now this week’s preview has a unconscious Danny? Keep this up, show, and watch your ratings plummet because you gave a significant chunk of your audience a heart attack.

Chelsea Lately (E!) 11:00 PM ET
Ross Mathews is set to guest-host tonight’s show which features Jackie Collins as the interview guest.

What will you be watching tonight? Please share in the comments!

Tomorrow’s Preview

General Hospital (ABC) Check local listings
While I don’t know if Lucas (or Brad or Felix) is part of General Hospital’s Valentine’s Day wrap-up, he does show up for the day-after misery.

Lyle Masaki is a fan of obscure superheroes, video games, adorkable guys and that show you loved that got cancelled way too soon.
