Jon Stewart Books Next Gig, Why Joel McHale Will Never Leave “The Soup,” “Hotwives” Move To Vegas: TV ON TAP

"The Real Housewives of Atlanta" is replacing NeNe Leakes with the franchise's first transgender cast member.

TMZ reports that The Real Housewives of Atlanta has found someone to replace NeNe Leakes — two women, actually. One is Facts of Life alum Kim Fields. The other is model Amiyah Scott, who will be the first full Real Housewives castmember who is transgender (the Miami show had a trans guest star). TMZ adds that Scott has been romantically linked to several rappers, which could make some interesting TV.

Conrad Ricamora on How To Get Away with Murder HTGAWM

How to Get Away with Murder creator Pete Norwalk is eager to tell Oliver’s story in the drama’s second season. “It’s a story I’m very excited about because it isn’t being told right now. There’s a whole community of people who aren’t represented on TV, and Shondaland is a place where everyone belongs… it’s a story we’re excited to tell because it feels fresh and like something I want to see on TV.”

Jon Stewart kicks Seth Rollins

Jon Stewart has booked his first post-Daily Show gig, he’ll host Sunday’s WWE SummerSlam, which airs this weekend, for those of you going through withdrawal.  I hope Seth Rollins wears a padded cup in case he gets on Stewart’s bad side.

Andrew Rannells in Girls

Andrew Rannells will play himself on The Simpsons. Lisa will get to meet the Girls actor after seeing him in a production of Bad News Bears: The Musical in Capitol City. Aw, I was hoping  Oh, Streetcar! would get a revival by now.

Stephen Colbert Truthiness

Stephen Colbert tells GQ he was ready to let his faux-pundit character go, and to end The Colbert Report when the chance to host The Late Show came around. “I no longer felt that that model served to address the national mood… Our response to the horror in South Carolina is to take the flag down. That is something I didn’t think was ever going to happen.”

The upcoming season of Saturday Night Live will start with host Miley Cyrus, followed by Amy Schumer and Tracy Morgan, one of his first TV appearances since his car crash. While I don’t think Morgan has made amends for that anti-gay routine, I am happy to hear he’s well enough to perform.

Joel McHale naked in Community

Joel McHale says, even as he has success elsewhere, he has no plans on leaving The Soup. “It’s once a week, all my friends are doing it, and we have a great time. Why would I leave something that’s clearly working?”

Comedy Central has dropped a show it was developing around Josh Ostrovsky, who is known online as “The Fat Jew.” While Ostrovsky has faced accusations of plagiarism, the past few days comedians have made public appeals to Comedy Central not to work with him. Since these are the people Comedy Central needs for its programming, it was an easy decision.

Sonny’s big decision leaves Will and Paul heartbroken. I have a feeling we’ll feel the same way.

Okay, I actually enjoyed that last revelation yesterday. I wasn’t particularly interested in why Brad was married but why they’re staying married? This could be fun. Can’t we just go back to the days of Brad and Lucas having morning-after chats?

The Hotwives of Las Vegas with Casey Wilson and Angela Kinsey

The Hotwives of Las Vegas (Hulu) streaming
Hulu’s got another season making fun of the Real Housewives franchise. This time we’re checking out the Hotwives of Las Vegas. Phe Phe is making the move from Orlando while Casey Wilson, Angela Kinsey and Andrea Savage are in new roles. While the first season was hilarious, the characters were pretty direct parodies of specific housewives. I thought the Orlando season was funny but the characters were a little too recognizable. This time the characters don’t directly correspond to a particular housewife and the result is even funnier.

Face Off

Face Off (Syfy) 9:00 PM ET
With both of the season’s out competitors having made failed makeups, things have been tense since last week’s cliffhanger ending. Whoever moves on will face their first individual challenge, involving coming up with a horror take on some classic literature. That just sounds amazing, especially since I think I saw The Scarlet Letter among the choices.

WORST.POST.EVER. with Frankie Grande (Oxygen) 9:00 PM ET
YouTuber and Big Brother alum Frankie Grande moves his focus back to social media with this new special that focuses on the videos and the pictures that backfired — from videos that end in a fall to attempts at taking sexy selfies that just aren’t the slightest bit sexy. I have a feeling this moment from the intro functions as a Rorschach test predicting your reaction to the show:

Frankie Grande hosts Worst Post Ever

Chopped (Food Network) 10:00 PM ET
It’s a rock star episode as Dweezil Zappa, Kelley Hansena, Eddie Ojeda and Lita Ford take on the mystery baskets, where they’ll find a “bubbly drink” (that could mean so many things, I’m hoping for ramune), rock candy and lemon rolls.

Scream (MTV) 10:00 PM ET
Emma returns to school even though she’s just gone through the kind of trauma you only encounter as a Scream character. Audrey and Noah are pretty worried about her ability to hold up.

Hollywood Game Night (NBC) 10:00 PM ET
This week’s games are played by Scott Wolf, Mary Lynn Rajskub, David Walton, Mena Suvari, Kate Flannery and David Giuntoli. At the very least there won’t be a handsome shortage.

Adam Rayner and Noah Silver in Tyrant

Tyrant (FX) 10:00 PM ET
Barry’s forces have been depleted and the previews have him crying Sammy’s name amid a chaotic landscape. This doesn’t look good.

The Late Late Show with James Corden (CBS) 12:35 AM ET
Morrissey appears on tonight’s show. Keep your fingers crossed for a performance.

Lyle Masaki is a fan of obscure superheroes, video games, adorkable guys and that show you loved that got cancelled way too soon.
