Rachel Maddow To Moderate Candidate Forum, Is This The Beginning Of The End For "Days of Our Lives"' Will Horton: TV ON TAP

Is it time to say goodbyte to one of soaps' highest profile gay characters?

News

One of TV's biggest delights is Fox's animated comedy Bob's Burgers, which appears on Fox's schedule with a frustrating inconsistency. Thankfully, it's not going away for good anytime soon. Fox just ordered two more seasons.

After last week's appearance by Hillary Clinton on Saturday Night Live, NBC advised its affiliates to file a notice with the FCC in case another Presidential candidate demands equal time. It turns out this is a common practice for NBC but we're noticing now because the FCC now compiles such notices online. However, the equal time only applies to Clinton's Democratic challengers.

Speaking of the Presidential race, Rachel Maddow will host a candidate forum in November. It's not a debate, where candidates appear on stage together and can respond to each other, since the Democratic party will only approve six events as debates.

For those of you who don't have Pivot on your cable line-up, Josh Thomas' Australian dramedy Please Like Me will debut on Hulu next week. The semi-autobiographical series follows Thomas trying to hold his family together after his bipolar mother's suicide attempt. There are a variety of gay characters and if you've encountered any of its fans in one of our comment threads, you'll know that it is beloved.

Sunday, Last Week Tonight introduced Scream into the Void where people can have the catharsis of saying mean things on the internet where it disappears and never adds to the negativity of the internet. The University of Florida seems to have taken inspiration from the episode, creating their own version.

A few years ago, reality TV was cheap programming that could fill up TV time and help a channel make money that would fund more ambitious scripted show. However, now stand up comedy is filling that role. Viewer interest in stand-up specials are growing and they can give someone reason to keep that Netflix subscription when that new season of Jessica Jones is still a month away.

How does premiere week look now that there's been time to count DVR viewers? Quantico is starting strong, beating its lead-in Blood & Oil in ratings and in the boost from DVR viewers. Scream Queens' overnight audience might have been disappointing but it's looking better once DVR viewers are counted. There's no good news for Minority Report, which looks doomed no matter how many DVR viewers it can add.

While TVD killed off its sole gay character last year, club kid-turned-vampire Josh (Stephen Kreuger) is still kicking on The Originals. The new season kicks off with an old pal of Klaus arriving in New Orleans to shake up all that brotherly tension between Klaus and Elijah. Coincidentally, there seems to be a new serial killer in town, as well.

Project Runway (Lifetime) 9:00 PM ET

It's network crossover time as UnReal's Shiri Appelby and Constance Zimmer show up as guest-judges for a challenge where average women get makeovers. How to Get Away with Murder (ABC) 10:00 PM ET

Tonight's episode is titled "It's Called the Octopus" and if that sounds like the punchline to a joke about an obscure sex position, it does include the team investigating a high-end sex club for their latest client. If she survives, I'm sure we'll see Scream Queens' Chanel #5 bragging about performing the Octopus next season.
