TV's 19 Hottest Gay Sex Scenes This Year (So Far)

From "How to Get Away with Murder" to "Hit the Floor," TV was good to gay couples in the past year.

The fall television season is about to start, and if it's anything like the last one, gays will have reason to rejoice: From seductive law students and horny high schoolers to athletes figuring themselves out and inmates working out their frustrations, it's been a good year for same-sex sex on the small screen.

Below, we look back at the 11 hottest small-screen moments of 2015—so far.

Faking It: Shane and Duke

As a show about figuring out your sexual identity, Faking It's pairing of out teen Shane (Michael J. Willett) and closeted athlete Duke (Skyler Maxon) really captured the joy of connecting with someone new (and finding you can't get enough of exploring his body). The best stuff happened off camera, alas, but Shane's expression filled in the gaps.

Orange Is the New Black: Piper and Alex

Over three seasons, Piper (Taylor Schilling) and Alex (Laura Prepon) have certainly had a dramatic relationship—including how they deal with their frustrations.

Days of Our Lives: Paul and Will

Writing a profile about injured baseball player Paul Narita (Christopher Sean), Will (Guy Wilson) suspected there was more to Paul's story. He got his answer when he finally asked Paul if he was gay, and Paul responded with a demonstration. What they didn't realize is that they had a man in common—Sonny, Will's husband and Paul's ex-fiance.

How to Get Away with Murder: Connor and Oliver

When Connor (Jack Falahee) seduced IT worker Oliver (Conrad Ricamora) in order to get some key information, the whole Internet fanned itself. Connor became one of the season's breakout characters and Oliver gave us a new hot nerd.

Mr. Robot: Tyrell and Anwar

While the real story behind Tyrell Wellick (Martin Walstrom) was one of the show's long-running mysteries, there's no mystery about what we'd do if he pulled us in for a kiss at a nightclub.

Empire: Jamal and Ryan

Jamal's relationship with his live-in boyfriend, Michael never got too hot-and-heavy. (Their steamiest scene is better remembered for Cookie calling Michael "Dora.") Thankfully, filmmaker Ryan (Eka Darville) showed up.

Faking It: Amy and Reagan

Moving on from her unrequited love for Karma wasn't easy for Amy but cater-waiter Reagan (Yvette Monreal) refused to be her rebound girl. That was just the push Amy needed to commit emotionally.

Jane the Virgin: Luisa and Rose

Jane may be a pregnant virgin, but Luisa (Yara Martinez) is Jane the Virgin's vortex of drama—especially when she learns her father's new wife is the ex-girlfriend she never got over. Luisa and Rose's first time ended in literal fireworks—finding out she's your new stepmom isn't going to lessen that kind of passion.

Hit the Floor: Jude and Zero

VH1's soapy sports drama got even hotter last season when the team's new bad boy, Zero (Adam Senn) hooked up with his agent Jude (Brent Antonello) on the downlow. The closet may have broken them up last season, but that probably won't be enough to keep them apart, even with a new man on the horizon.

Looking: Augustin and Eddie

Agustin (Frankie J. Alvarez)  ended Looking's first season as its most frustrating character. Happily, in Second Two lovable bear Eddie (Daniel Fanzese) got him to show a new, more caring side.

General Hospital: Lucas and Brad

General Hospital is wasting resources by not letting Ryan Carnes and Parry Shen's off-the-charts chemistry get more screen time. Thankfully, we still will get the occasional moment, like the time they woke up together, got ready for a busy day — and ended up back in bed.

Mistresses: Karen, Vivian and Alec

Karen (Yunjin Kim) managed to find her healthiest relationship yet when getting involved with a doctor (Ed Quinn) seeking a suitable donor for his sick wife (Sonja Bennett). Their threeway was hot, but two partners made it harder for Karen to overthink her way out of another relationship.

Banana: Freddie and Josh

For Josh (Luke Newberry), sex with Freddie (Freddie Fox) was literally a life-changing experience—as it prompts him to reconsider his perspective on the world when he visits his childhood home.

Looking: Patrick and Kevin

Patrick previously bottomed for Kevin and spent the day before their latest date trying to get through his issues with it, only for Kevin to tell him it was his turn to put on the condom. Versatility can be an incredibly sexy.

Orphan Black: Cosima and Shay

After ending things with Delphine, Cosima (Tatiana Maslany) set the bar pretty high for love. But Shay (Ksenia Solo) really touched her—and not just with her healing touch. It was enough to get Cosima to overlook Shay's many warning signs.

Shameless: Ian and Mickey

The latest challenge for Shameless' long-running gay couple was a diagnosis that Ian was bipolar, a condition manifesting in his hypersexuality. Mix in the couple's long bumpy history and you have a scene that mixes intimacy with smoldering, first-hookup desire.

Sense8: Nomi and Amanita

Sense8 let us know it would have an nontraditional approach to sexuality from the get-go: After Nomi (Jamie Clayton) and Amanita (Freema Agyeman) have welcome-home sex, they pause to get the strap-on out of the way before a post-coital cuddle.

How To Get Away with Murder: Connor and Pax

Sure, we want to see Conner with Oliver for a long time, but you can't discuss Connor's active sex life on HTGAWM without bringing to mind Connor's seduction of doomed assistant Pax.

Sense8

Another Sense8 twist: In Episode 6, the group joins in a telepathic orgy that crossed time, space and sexual orientation. The experience gave closeted gay actor Lito (Miguel Angel Silvestre) the biggest orgasm of his life, and straight cop Will (Brian J. Smith) a memorably messy gym workout to explain.
