Two Transgender Teens Arrested After Oklahoma Crime Spree

"'Oh my God, I'm going to die.' That was my first thought. I was terrified."

Two transgender teens were captured in Ohio after committing violent robberies throughout Oklahoma earlier this month.

18-year-old Marcus Roland and 15-year-old Kaleb Saunders were arrested while robbing a Dollar General, following a string of crimes in Oklahoma and Kansas.

At one point, officers actually caught them and arrested Roland, but eventually gave him bond out of fear that jail would be dangerous for him due to his being transgender.

They quickly realized that was a mistake, however, after the pair held two women at gunpoint at another Dollar General.

"'Oh my God, I'm going to die.' That was my first thought. I was terrified," the robbery victim said.

Police quickly realized the teens were more dangerous than they originally thought, and made their search even more urgent.

"Somebody's going to die," said Muskogee County District Attorney Orvil Loge. "There's guns involved, knives involved. They're not afraid of police and committed multiple robberies."

They were finally apprehended at the Ohio Dollar General when another customer called 911, and they were booked on complaints of robbery, kidnapping and felonious assault.
