Meet the Logo30: Ty Sunderland

The queer DJ's sets are music to our ears.

Every day during the month of June, we will be spotlighting our 2020 Logo30. This powerful series profiles ordinary and extraordinary people who show pride in unique and provocative ways. Visit the Logo30 homepage to view current and past honorees.

No, not Tyler the Creator: Ty Sunderland is Logo30’s “Creator.”

The New York City-based DJ, event producer, and entrepreneur is a household name in NYC’s queer dance party scene. He can usually be found spinning at Love Prism, a disco-filled queer dance party at 3 Dollar Bill in Brooklyn, as well as a host of other events, the current COVID-19 pandemic notwithstanding.

He’s been known to give back to the community, too, recently donating proceeds from Love Prism merch to NYC’s Anti-Violence Project.

“The message I would give to the world and my LGBTQ family is to take more responsibility for queer people everywhere, not just in your country, your state, or your neighborhood,” Sunderland told Logo and NewNowNext. “There’s people all over the world who are queer, and we have to look out for all of them as a family.”

That’s music to our ears. Learn more about the Pride anthem picks from our 2020 Logo30 honorees, including Sunderland, in the video below.
