U.S. Soccer Teams Score Rainbow Jerseys For Gay Pride Month

The colorful kits will be auctioned off to benefit the You Can Play Project.

In honor of LGBT Pride, the U.S. men’s and women’s national soccer teams will wear special jerseys with rainbow-colored numbers.

According to U.S. Soccer's official site, the men's team will debut the colorful kits on June 3 when they play Venezuela. The women's team will wear theirs while challenging Sweden on June 8 and Norway on June 11.

Game-worn rainbow-numbered jerseys will be auctioned off to benefit the You Can Play Project, an organization dedicated to ensuring equality and respect for all athletes, coaches, and fans, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

Fans can also purchase customized limited-edition rainbow-numbered jerseys, as well as a special “One Nation. One Team.” hat with rainbow lettering.
