British Morning Show Treats Viewers To Balls Close-Up In Cancer Screening Segment

Viewers of the UK morning show Lorraine were treated to a rather surprising closeup this week, as a man was filmed giving himself a self-examination for testicular cancer.

The uncensored shot was part of #CheckYourChaps, a campaign to help young men screen themselves—and is not the first time balls have been shown on British television for educational purposes.

The Daily Mail reports some viewers were upset by the scrotum, which appeared while Dr. Hilary Jones instructed a male volunteer,"Charlie," on how to examine himself properly.

"With the right hand put your thumb in front of the left testicle and fourth finger and middle finger behind it and roll the finger between the two," advised the good doctor.  "Feel the contour of the testicle. It’s like an elongated egg and should be nice and smooth."

Some called the segment "disgusting" and "distasteful," lamenting that they were "forced to watch" despite being perfectly capable of changing the channel to something else (like the uncensored breasts that nobody seems to complain about).

"Eating my breakfast with my one-year-old granddaughter, I didn't want to see this at breakfast time," moaned one woman. "Time and a place for things like this, I love Lorraine but this is distasteful for morning viewing."

Said another viewer, "Just turned ITV on while eating my toast to be faced with a pair of testicles, not what I expected #CheckYourChaps #Lorraine"
