Ukraine Wins Eurovision Song Contest

Ukraine's Jamala snatched victory with her song "1944."

The finale of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest was an intense nail-biter, but Ukraine's Jamala just officially won it all with a grand total of 534 points for her song "1944".

For the first time in the show's history, jury votes were revealed separately from those of the public vote, adding a great deal of suspense to the results.

Despite Australia receiving the highest number of jury votes and Russia scoring the highest in the televote, it was ultimately the combination of both of those scores that led Ukraine to victory.
