This Woman Married Her Girlfriend On Her Deathbed, And The Video Will Break Your Heart

A heartbreaking video has surfaced on Reddit LGBT, featuring a young woman holding a commitment ceremony in a hospital room with her terminally ill girlfriend.

"You're my soul mate—you always will be," a weeping Christie Bateman told a bedridden Angela Humphries, in a ceremony held just days before Angela passed away.

Angela and Christie live in Australia,  where same-sex marriage is not legal, so it's not clear what, if any, legal bearing their union will have.

Reddit user Adam Smith posted the clip, writing. "Last week [my] lesbian friend recently lost her lifelong partner. Days before passing away, they had a ceremony in the hospital."

Smith added, "Some may say it's tacky. I think it's beautiful."

So do we.
