Up Next For “Love, Simon” Director Greg Berlanti? The Tale Of A Bisexual Royal In The 1700s

"The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue" features a 17th century bisexual British Lord.

Producer Greg Berlanti already has a full roster of shows, but his newest project will be vastly different from what his audiences are familiar with.

As Variety reports, the Love, Simon director’s latest film project will be an adaptation of Mackenzi Lee’s young adult novel, The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue. Published in June 2017 by HarperCollins, the book focuses on an 17th century bisexual British Lord who goes on an adventure with his best friend (who he is in love with) and his sister. The novel had rave reviews, earning a spot on the various “best of 2017” lists and an upcoming sequel, but it’s no surprise that a film adaptation is on the way.

The adaptation of The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue is only the latest in Berlanti’s roster of current shows in production. Berlanti Productions currently has 11 shows in production across various networks, including The CW, NBC, ABC, Lifetime, and Netflix. Berlanti is reportedly still searching for a showrunner to oversee the project before shopping it to networks.
