Uplifting Irish Ad Urges Families To Vote For Marriage Equality
A new Irish ad designed to urge citizens to vote is tugging at our heartstrings this weekend. The two-minute video is in preparation of Ireland's upcoming national referendum on marriage equality on May 22.
The ad, created to urge people to get out and vote for equality next month, showcases family members coming together in unity over support of the LGBT community.
If the referendum is passed, Ireland will add the following line to its constitution: "Marriage may be contracted in accordance with law by two persons without distinction as to their sex.”
A poll held earlier this year found that 76% of Irish citizens would vote yes in favor of same-sex marriage if the referendum were to be held tomorrow. That's a big number, and one we can only hope is rising as videos like these begin to surface before the big day.
