Watch: What Can You Do When Your Crush Swings for “The Other Team”?

Upsahl explores the ultimate missed connection in her latest music video.

Upsahl goes back to school in the new video for "The Other Team," her single about navigating young love and finding yourself.

The song "is about unrequited feelings and crushing on people that don't like you back, so we figured that a high school setting was the perfect place to showcase the feeling that we all know too well," says the L.A.-based pop singer in a statement.

"Everyone is always going to be swinging for somebody else's ‘other team,’ so you'll be seeing a bunch of missed connections between characters throughout the video, while we all dance and run around a high school."

In the video, directed by Ally Pankiw with a throwback Breakfast Club aesthetic, we see the young performer pining after a hot guy who—sorry, ladies!—only has eyes for another male classmate.

"Gave him a smile, and he turned to walk my way," she sings. "But then he walked right past me towards another man."

Upsahl says the song is actually based on when she had the “fun little experience” of falling for her gay best friend in middle school.

"Regardless of whether a straight person is falling for a gay person, or a gay person is falling for a straight person, everyone is always going to be looking for someone," she tells Refinery29. "Everyone can kind of relate in some way."
