Women’s gymnastics is one of the highlights of the summer games every four years, and it is also the one time when the entire world clutches pillows, screams out loud and grimaces in hopes that a poor little teenager from America, China, or any Eastern European nation will not kill herself on one of four apparatuses — vault, beam, uneven bars and floor.
Last night the American team avoided any nasty falls as they advanced to the team finals, and gymnasts Gaby Douglas and Aly Raisman to the all-around final.
